CHAPTER SEVEN

MASON

Seeing as she picked her food gingerly eating tiny little bites was annoying to say the least, I knew she was doing this to irritate the hell out of me, she probably thinks I will ignore her as I use to the previous years. It's being a month since the birthday incident and nothing strange has happened, well except for the fact that she could speak perfectly well, and of cause she hasn't taken off her amulet since then, not that I wanted her to.

"I might be going on a trip soon".

"..........."

"Don't know when though, but....."

"........."

"You know given time I did say you have perfectly mastered the dead fish expression"

Frustrated was an understatement, it's like she had become a totally different person ever since that night a month ago.

"I have nothing to say your highness, have a safe trip?"

Did I offend her in anyway? Was she mad at me?

"If I offended you I apologize, all these must be stressing you out"

For a moment it was like there was a change in her gaze like a softening but that might just have been wishful thinking on my part as her eyes harden again and resumed eating those tiny bites. Where had things gone wrong? After that night, the next day they had breakfast together, though Abit reluctant, but we talked I could see she had dark circles, which I chucked as the after effect of the previous night debacle, but a week later her dark circle seem to be growing worse, when I asked her about it, she brush it off and complaint of headaches, which I had my personal doctor see to her needs but things began to change from there, she finds excuses to avoid my presence, she began acting and dressing differently, at first I thought the soul of Amanda was back but the amulet was still on her, so going on this trip to find answers was the next best thing to do.

" Where are you going?" She asked with that same annoying expression.

"Just some business here and there, why? Do you want to come with me?"  I tease her to see her reaction, though I was curious about what her answer would be.

"Maybe, I could do with a bit of fresh air"

"....."

Okay I wasn't expecting her to take up my offer, but am a man of my word and who knows things might really work out well for everybody.

Battling everyday with memory of another soul every single minute wasn't something for the faint of heart, sometimes I get this whole scene of Mason and I, intimate scenes, which leaves me either feeling violated or embarrassed.
Feeling hot already, it was definitely too late to retreat they already arrived in their destination "India" .
Of all vacation spots why India?

"Can we get something cold, am thirsty"

Seeing his slightly hidden shocked expression, I felt momentarily guilty as this was the first word I had voluntarily spoken to him.
Almost two months since our birthday, I haven't been my self, I knew he noticed but I couldn't let him in, knowing whatever that is invading my mind also wants him dead, so the only way I could protect him was keeping my distance from him, well so much for protecting cause here we are together in another exotic country.
I really hope he gets the answers we came here for, cause I feel something has change and no one is safe from it.
