CHAPTER NINE

MASON
It was like a bomb went off in my head, for a brief second I could only hear just ringing echoing in my head, Amy had an Affair with Finn? Was this an Amanda and Marco all over again, and yet I felt there was something else, remember how my instinct hardly stir me wrong?, well it was tingling again.

"Amy, Amy shhhh don't cry, here"

Giving her a tissue I help wipe her eyes and she took it and blew ungraciously into it, dragging a smile out of me despite the glooming situation we were in now.

"Now tell me what happened, don't leave anything out"

"Everything?"

She asked so timidly that I almost just want to forget everything.

"Um...well that night on your birthday...."

"Our birthday"

Mason interrupted gently, seeing as she smiled quietly, he patted the small of her back as if to encourage her to continue.

"On the night of our birthday, after you left, I mean after the whole soul shifting thing, I tried to get some sleep, but I kept on seeing flashes that I knew were not part of my memory."

"Such as? What did you see Amy?"

"I saw Finn and I being intimate, at first I thought it was a memory, but then I kept having vivid memory of it, then about three days after that night.......I don't have other memory of what happened, except I woke up in one of the rooms not my own bedroom, I must have sleep walk I guess, but then Finn came into the room and gave me this nasty ugly smile, it was as if to tell me what I saw was real, and we probably had sex....I don't know Mason am so confuse, don't even know if he was real or just my imagination, cause when I saw him again he was dressed entirely differently and already discussing with you"

As I listen to her describe the scenes with Finn,I suddenly realize that indeed it wasn't her memory but Amanda, Another shock i got upon waking up here was not just seeing Amanda's double, but also Marco in the face of Finn, that means she has been suffering whiplashes from the little experiment we did that night. Remembering how I had been impatient with her and sometimes snappy, I suddenly felt guilty and ashamed.

"Mason?.....what is it?"

"Hmmm Amy, there is something I didn't tell you before, Amanda, my um ex wife well you are a replica of her...."

"Mason I may be slow at times but not that stupid, of cause I know we are like two peas in a pod, from her memories I could see her"

"Okay but what you don't know is that she cheated on me with my best friend, who also looks like Finn"

"What? So it...it's just a memory?"

Seeing how happy she suddenly became, makes me want to agree to everything she says.

"Lets get some rest, tomorrow we are going to the temple, there's someone who wants to meet you"

"The one who is going to help?...."

Truth is I have doubts too, but seeing the light back in her eyes again, hell I would move both world to keep it that way.

"If he can't , then we will try someone else, we are never giving up okay?"

"Um...Mason? How about you stay here just in case, I mean just to be caution, I have never been to another country before......and....I....I.."

Hiding my smile I pretend to wait seriously for her to continue.

"What do you want Amy?"

"I want you to stay"

"........"

"Just to sleep nothing else "

" ......"

"I see".
