I was in my room, replaying everything. I was replaying the fourth, when Kate had told me she was flirting with me. It's all new territory. It's proper, traditional. With Paige, we jumped right into it. This time it's different. The girls had gone back to Storrs.
"Bella! Kate's here." I head downstairs.
"Hey you." I smile.
"Hi." She grinned, "So I was thinking, we go to the fair tonight."
"Like a..?" I let that trail.
"A date Bella. I want to take you out on a date. That is if you let me." Kate has this confidence about her.
"Okay. When?" I asked.
"You free now?"
"Yeah let me go grab my bag." I smile heading back to my room.
We're walking around the fair. The skies are painted pink and orange from the sunsetting.
Kate insisted we ride the ferris wheel and I had no reason to argue with her. We get into our cart. She sits next to me and I melt into her."You know 6th grade me would be screaming right now." Kate laughed nervously.
"Yeah? Why's that?" I smile at her.
"Because I had a little crush on you then." She shrugged.
"Shut up no you didn't." I shook my head.
"No I'm being serious. I liked you. I think 6th grade Kate would've flipped into a bumblebee tumble." Kate let out a laugh.
"You're sweet you know that?" My tone was soft. I didn't worry about an argument or when things would go wrong. It was Kate.
"Hm I never noticed." She looked up and we shared a laugh.
We head over to the games after the ferris wheel. We go to the ring toss game. Kate is determined on winning me a stuffed monkey. She says it'd be a good addition, she says that Honey can have a friend. I laugh at that. Effortlessly, she makes 3 rings in a row. She points to the monkey, while the worker hands it to Kate, she thanks him.
"How are you liking the first date so far?" Kate out an arm around me.
"So far so good." I grin as she pressed her lips to my temple, "We should name him."
"He looks like a Fred." Kate took a good look at the monkey.
"Fred it is." I smiled.
"You're so cute." Kate had her hands all over me in the purest way you could think.
After riding the rides, playing the games, we sat down and ate food.
"So I was thinking we do these dates everyday until I leave for Summer workouts. Totally don't have to, we can like chill." She was babbling and I shake my head.
"Kate calm down. I'd love to go out again tomorrow."
"Pick you up at 6?" She had a grin and I could see the flush on her cheeks turn red.
"Yeah." I smiled.
The night came to an end. Kate dropped me off. I head off to my room.
Celia joins me, "Hey B."
"Hi. Are you okay?" I check her expression.
"Yeah tell me about your date." Celia shoots up sitting on my bed while I change into pajamas.
"It was sweet." I nod.
"But? It sounds like there's a but."
"Are you supposed to feel butterflies? Like fireworks every single time you're with someone you like?" I could see myself with Kate. I'd known her my whole life.
