I had finished the journal entry and had started doodling in my DoodleBook, which is the notebook I have decided to dedicate to the small low-effort drawings, by the time Nedzu let me know he had found a perfect apartment for me.

Of course, I stood up because I wanted to see, but he held a paw up to stop me.

"You'll see it when we get there. For now we must establish a way of communicating when we are separated!" Nedzu joyfully says, hopping down from his chair and walking to me. I lean down and let him climb onto my shoulder. He didn't even need to ask as I understood that, logically, it was faster if I carried him because of his short stature. We started heading out of the building once he was settled.

It felt weird to me, being in an empty school, but the weight on my shoulder kept me from thinking I was alone.

We ended up walking to the mall, as the closest tech store to us, and what would be my home was, there. We did get on the train again, just to get closer faster, but most of the trip was me walking. Part of me was surprised it didn't seem like anyone was staring at us, but the other part was reminding me that this could be more normal than I know.

When we finally got to the store, Nedzu asked me to wait outside. Probably because on the way I ended up admitting my guilt for how much money he was using on me. So I waited, and instead looked at a scarf in the storefront window the next store over. It was purple, and looked comfy. I didn't realize how long I was staring at it, but I was forced to stop when an employee took it from the window.

I went back to the tech store to wait for Nedzu, wondering how long it was going to take, when his voice materialized beside me.

"Ack-!" I jumped, nearly loosing my balance from the scare. I didn't even register what he said.

"My apologies, but I've gotten the phone set up. Here." He gives me the bag. I feel it's too big to be just holding a phone, but he also taped it shut so I couldn't look inside.

"While we are here we should get you some food and other necessities, at least to last a few days. As well as some shoes so you're not walking in just sock." Nedzu tells me. I only nod, and walk to another store.

After each store we enter, I leave feeling more guilt for the money Nedzu has decided to spend on me. I didn't do anything aside from exist and be okay at chess. I'm glad he didn't try to make me get something that I wanted. I'd feel even more guilty then. By lunch time, we end up at a food court, having gotten all I needed, and I of course pick the cheapest thing on the menu of the restaurant I ended up at. Nedzu and I both got tea, and ended up eating in silence. My thoughts on how I'd pay Nedzu back for all this were what filled my head during this.

I took both our trash to the trashcan before Nedzu got back on my shoulder, which marked the end of the shopping trip. I was ready to sit in a corner and do nothing for the rest of the day, but we still had to get to the apartment Nedzu found for me.

It didn't take long at all to make it to the building. The elevator trip was longer than the walk. I'd probably take the stairs if I were to leave.

Nedzu had gotten the code to what held the keys to the apartment. There were two, so he ended up keeping one while I pocketed the other.

"I made sure to find an apartment that was already mostly furnished, so you didn't have to sleep on the floor. However, there unfortunately was no apartment with a bed. This one just so happened to have a futon as a couch, which is why I picked it out for you."

I nod, and absentmindedly say "I've slept on books before, so it wouldn't have bugged me to sleep on the floor."

Nedzu looked to me, and it took me a moment to realize what I had said.
