Chances 4

We were walking back to the house when I noticed the black clouds in the sky. I could feel the extra heat before I could see the orange of the flames. Once I noticed it I was running to Toni's house to make sure it wasn't his house that was burning. But I stopped in my tracks when I noticed it was.

  My heart dropped as I looked at the house. I looked around but there was no sign of Lovi or Toni. I looked up and saw as the flames reached the top floor. In the light of the flames I could faintly see a shadow of a human figure in the house. That meant Toni and Lovi were still in there.

  I ran towards the house but Ludwig grabbed my wrist. I looked at him and shot him a death glare. I needed to help Toni and Lovi, they've done so much for me these past two weeks. I needed to help my family.

  "Lovi, and Toni are still in there! I need to help them." I said as I tried to pull my hand out of Ludwig's.

  "Nein, we can't have jou risking it. Jou need to stay out of it just like zhe rest of us. Zhe firemen vill be here soon." Ludwig said and I just shook my head.

  "Soon isn't soon enough. They need help now." I said and used enough force to pull my hand out of Ludwig's. As soon as I was free I ran into the burning house. My lungs instantly burned from smoke but I had to get Lovi and Toni out of here.

  "Toni?!" I called. "Lovi?!"

  Not hearing anything I went to the stairs and weaved my way around the flames. I crawled up the stairs until I was on the top floor. I coughed and called their names again. I heard a small whimper and went to look in the room that was blocked by flames.

  I jumped and realized they were in there. Thinking fast I knew I wouldn't be able to jump through the flames. I went to my room which was now a black crisp with very few little flames. It looked as if the fire had already been in my room. Wait, if the fire had already been here that meant the walls would be weak.

  I grabbed the tall lamp that was burnt but instantly let it go. It was burning hot but it seemed like my only option. I grabbed the lamp again, this time covering my hands with my sleeves. It was still warm but it wasn't that bad to touch now.

  Using all the strength I had I slammed the lamp into the weakened wall. It broke a bit and I was sure it got Lovi and Toni's attention. I hit it again and the wall cracked so there was a small hole. One big enough to fit somebodies hand.

  "Toni, Lovi!" I yelled as I looked through the hole I had made. I coughed again, this time it was a horrible hacking sound.

  "Sophie?!" Lovi shouted. "What are you doing?"

  Antonio looked in my direction and noticed the small hole I had made. "She's saving us, Lovi. That's what she's doing." He crawled over to the hole and started pulling at it with his hands. And Lovi soon joined him.

  "This is taking to long." I coughed. "Back up and let me help." They both seemed a bit shocked but backed up a little bit. I could see the flames closing in on them and knew I had to work fast.

  I lifted the lamp again and slammed it into the wall. I did it over and over until I fell to the ground. I could hardly breathe because of all the smoke I had inhaled. Luckily the hole was big enough for Lovi and Toni to crawl through.

  I felt Toni pick me up and he ran to the stairs, Lovi right behind him. But when we got to the stairs they were gone. Moving quickly Toni gave me Lovi and some how got down with out the stairs. Then Lovi knelt down and dropped me. I gave out a light scream before Toni caught me.

  Toni set me on the ground and quickly helped Lovi to the ground. Once he was down Toni picked me up again and ran out of the house. I could hear voices around me but I couldn't make out who's they were or what they were saying. All I know is that I saved Toni and Lovi and them me. Then I fell into blackness.
