I heard the beeping of machines and slowly opened my eyes only to close them again. The white light hurt my eyes. I could feel a breathing mask on my face that was helping me breathe. I tried again to open my eyes and this time succeeded after blinking a few times.

"Ve~ Sophie!" Feli exclaimed once he noticed I was awake. He came over to me and gave me a hug and so did Ludwig and Gilbert. Gilbird flew onto my shoulder and rubbed his head into my chin.

"Where-?" I coughed. "Where's Lovi and Toni?" I struggled to talk.

"Zheir in zhe room just down zhe hall." Gilbert said. I nodded and struggled to get out of bed so I could go see them. But Luddy put a hand on my shoulder to stop me.

"I'll go get zhem to come here. Jou need to stay put, jou're in worst condition zhen zhey are." He said and got up to go get Lovi and Toni.

"Thank you, Luddy." I said horsily. A few minutes later he came back and Lovi and Toni practically ran towards me. They both hugged me and I couldn't help the giant smile that crept onto my face, seeing them okay.

I didn't realize until then that I had bandages on both hands. It was probably from touching the hot lamp. They stung a bit but I was just too happy seeing Lovi and Toni to care. I hugged them but made sure that my hands didn't touch their backs.

"Sophie, that was dangerous and stupid, never do that again." Lovi said and hugged me again. "I'm just glad that your okay." He whispered in my ear. He let me go and instantly turned on the other three, Gilbert, Luddy and Feli.

"How dare you damn bastards let her run into a burning building. What were you idiots thinking letting her go inside? Why didn't any of you damn bastards follow her in to bring her out?!" Lovi yelled at them.

"Ve~ fratello. Doitsu tried to stop her but she some how managed to pull out of his grip." Feli said and Lovi looked shocked.

He looked at me as if for confirmation and I nodded. "It's true. I wouldn't let him hold me back. I knew you guys were still inside and I just needed to help." Everyone just sort of looked at me but Gilbert smirked.

"She seems to accomplish anything if she puts her mind to it. She climbed a book case just because she wanted to prove to Gilbird that she vas vorthy." All eyes shot to him but before anyone could speak I did.

"He wasn't with me when I climbed it. He only found me once I was up there and he helped me down. He didn't say anything because I asked him not to." I lied. I coughed and I knew that they would drop the topic for now.

But I wanted to make sure Gilbert didn't get in trouble for letting me doing something I shouldn't have. Gilbird tweeted in agreement. I smiled and everyone besides Gilbert couldn't help but believe me. Even if they knew, deep down, I was truly lying.

I tried taking of the mask but soon but put it back on after a coughing fit. It was much easier to breath with the mask on. I looked at everyone in the room and noticed that a doctor had just walked in. I looked at him and he smiled at me before smiling back.

"If you wouldn't mind, I would like to talk to Lovino Vargas and Antonio Fernández Carriedo." The doctor said. They looked at each other and shared an uncertain look before following the doctor out of the room.

Wanting to know what was going on I spoke just before they left the room. "I want to know what's going on." I said and they all looked at me. Toni looked at the doctor and nodded before coming to sit beside me.

"Well Sophie, still has smoke left in her lungs and second degree burns on her hands. It will take about two months for her lungs to filter out. As for her hands it was take about three weeks for her hands to heal." The doctor said. I nodded when everyone just stared at him.

"Will I need to keep this thing on?" I asked motioning to the mask. The doctor nodded.

"You will need to keep it on until you can breathe easily on your own."

I looked at Toni and Lovi and they both nodded. I looked down at my lap when I thought of getting out of here. Our home was gone and we had no where that we could go. Sure we may be able to live at one of the other countries houses but I didn't want to take up space.

Then an idea popped into my head. I was going to act on it tonight if I could. But I couldn't let Toni or Lovi know. I wanted this to be a surprise.

Things you need to know;

- I don't actually know if smoke can stay in your lungs for that long but I'm guessing it can

- the reason Sophie may seem older then five is because of the way her parents had treated her
