Winter

I dream of a cherry blossom on a high mountain,
The blossoms fall gracefully with the wind,
Branches dancing with the snow,
Unbending.

Winter wraps her ice around the cherry blossom,
She demands submission.
Mother Earth stands tall,
Unbending.

The tree is choked by the cold air and smothered with snow,
Winter finds a victory once more.
Spring arrives and the tree regrows,
Unbending.

The delicate dance of life and death,
One I know well.
For I stand alone on this mountain,
Unbending.
