Balance of The Gods

Oh Selene, hold me close,
Or leave me with Asteria.
The beauty of your realm warms me,
But it lies so far beyond mortal reach.

Oh Helios, burn me in your embrace,
Watch me fall from your realm.
Your beautiful light melts the wax at my wings,
A divinity that kills.

Oh Artemis, allow me to be free and fast,
Or chain me to a life below humanity.
The beauty of a goddess so free,
The hunters and archers know your name.

Oh Apollo, grant me great health,
Watch as the prophets use your power.
Weave the music that flows through the air,
Or guide an arrow into your enemies.

Oh Hades, welcome me into your realm,
Or burn me as a betrayer of the gods.
The wealthiest of gods on Olympus,
But the loneliest of Olympians.

Oh Persephone, take mercy on the mortals,
Or watch me lose everything.
A goddess of spring and the dead,
So far apart yet so close.

The gods all have their parallels,
Some meant to hurt and others to heal.
The lines between sun and moon blur,
The line between good and evil are gone.
