CHAPTER 004

Weekends ended just like that and it is already monday. That means, today is the day that I will be attending the awaited FSL class.

As luck would have it, our project presentation with Miss Sevilleja was moved around four pm this afternoon. It was originally scheduled at six am in the morning which was really early if you think about it, given the fact that my FSL class starts at exactly nine thirty am.

If the meeting presentation wasn't moved, my schedule would definitely clash.

Paggising ko kanina ay mayroong notice si Miss Sevilleja sa group chat namin. Hindi niya sinabi ang buong detalye kung bakit pero sapat na rason na kailangan niyang unahin ang dapat asikasuhin sa kaniyang kumpanya.

I also need to tell her about my membership with the FSL class thingy because once the presentation is done, our work will start immediately.

Kailangan palaging present sa land site at kailangan din ng mga construction workers ang aming guidance. Magkakaroon naman kami ng meeting orientation kasama sila para malaman din nila kung ano ang project na gagawin.

Maaga akong bumiyahe dahil may kalayuan din ang location kung saan yung FSL class ko. Hindi na ako nakapag breakfast sa bahay kaya nag desisyon nalang akong doon na kumain. May malapit na convenience store akong nakita around the area, titignan ko kung may makakain ba roon.

At exactly eight thirty, I arrived at the place.

Pagka-park ko ng sasakyan ko ay dali dali akong pumasok sa convenience store. Bumati kaagad sa akin ang isang lalakeng worker na kasalukuyang nag wawalis sa loob at gano'n din ang ginawa ng iba.

"Good morning po, Ma'am!" They happily welcomed me in unison. My eyes quickly lingered to their navy blue and cream uniform, it was pretty decent and clean.

I smiled and bob my head to recognize them. "Good morning din."

"We have a new breakfast menu po at kadarating lang din po ng deliveries kanina." Nakangiting bahagi ng babaeng employee nila. Tinuro niya rin kung saan ko 'yon makikita.

"Alright, I'll check it. Thank you." Ngiting sagot ko pabalik.

Dumiretso ako sa food aisle sa right part kung saan may mga variety akong pagpipilian. As much as I hate to admit, having breakfast in a convenience store sounds unhealthy. Kaso, nandito na ako, eh.

Would it be the best choice if I just went to the bread and pastry store I saw earlier along the way? But the distance was quite far from the building center. Hay.

Hindi rin ako kumakain ng meals nila rito, lalo na yung mga packed foods na may rice at microwavable pa. Who knows what kind of process has happened in there and I can't afford to get sick because of it.

But since they offered it first thing, I'll probably give it a try.

Isa-isa kong tinignan ang mga breakfast meal na nandito. At mukhang kadedeliver lang talaga ng mga 'yon kasi mukhang bago yung packaging nila. May mga rice halos pero magkakaiba yung ulam na option. May eggs, sausages, hams and others that aren't really pleasing in the eyes.

I just remembered something.

I bit the inside of my cheeks, feeling troubled. Out of habit, I checked my wrist watch to see what it reads. Sampung minuto na rin ang nakakalipas pero hanggang ngayon ay wala pa akong napipili.

Okay, maybe I was lying when I said I should give it a try.

Magtutubig nalang ako at isang waffle na nakita ko sa isang food cabinet pluton space in between the two counter.
