CHAPTER 005

Midcentury modern house style was the home design chosen by Miss Sevilleja, particularly the Midcentury golden valley. It was most popular in New York City and in the United States and this kind of house architecture is somewhat infrequent in the Philippines.

There are numerous midcentury modern houses here. However, it is outnumbered with the most common basic design style which is the townhouse followed by minimalist, bungalow, mediterranean, country-style, midcentury modern and lastly the contemporary.

You could tell filipinos are fond of classics and similar designs to one another. Makikita naman 'yon dahil halos mag kakaparehas ang mga klase ng bahay na nakikita sa iba't ibang lugar. At naka dipende 'yan sa taste ng isang tao, katulad lang ni Miss Sevilleja.

This was also the first time I designed a midcentury modern house that's why I am really hoping that this project will be a huge success for all of us.

I really admire Miss Sevilleja's judgement for this. Not only is it new to me but I also had a chance to have a change of course because of her. That explains my excitement for this project.

As for the interior designs, Queen Sabrina proposed using a warm palette style along with the Midcentury contemporary spin with a hint of Midcentury redefined with a chic sense. May pagka-retro at rustic vibe kasi ang midcentury modern kaya nag stick siya sa idea na 'yon para ma-maintain pa rin yung original feel ng midcentury golden valley.

And about the materials and construction company and the interior designing firm— that was assigned to Miss Gail aside from being the main civil engineer for this. She's our land surveyor and her job will start once everything is ready and settled. May isa pa siyang appointment na kailangan makuha at iyon ang company na pwedi namin maka-trabho rito.

The meeting presentation has already ended in a span of two and a half hours. It was pretty quick compared to my previous presentation that took me more than three hours. Fair enough because I don't want to disappoint my client and it is important to converse about the highlights and everything.

At kanina rin during our meeting, may mga minor concerns lang si Miss Sevilleja na gustong i-acknowledge at may pinoint out lang siya para rin wala nang aberya kapag nag umpisa na kami. Wala rin mali sa presentation ko at sadyang mayroon lang siyang idinagdag.

Pagkatapos din ng meeting presentation namin ay diretso nang umalis sina Miss Sevilleja at Queen Sabrina. Mayroon ata silang lakad dahil humindi sila kaninang nag-aya si Miss Gail na mag dinner muna kami sa resto-bar ng parents ko.

Nandito pa rin ako sa office ko at nagpapahinga. Pagkatapos ko rito ay pupuntahan ko sina Mama at Daddy para tumulong din sa resto-bar, as usual.

Kasama ko rin pala rito si Miss Gail at kausap ngayon si Ate Sienna over a video phone call. I left them at the living area to give them some personal space. Ayoko rin naman makinig sa kung ano ang pinag-uusapan nila.

Makikipag video call din sana ako kay Ate Lexi para makamusta siya, kaso lang ay hindi pa rin siya nag-rereply sa last message ko. Baka nag papahinga pa rin siya hanggang ngayon tutal ay mayroon naman silang three more days to rest and enjoy bago ulit sila lumipad.

Tama nga ang sinabi niya sa akin last time, mag eextend ang work niya.

Para malabanan din ang boredom ko ay nag scroll nalang ako sa cellphone ko habang halos naka-tihaya rito sa swivel chair ko.

Mayroong interior designing firm company na nabanggit si Miss Sevilleja at hindi ako gaanong familiar doon.

"What was the name of the firm again?" I asked myself out loud habang naka tingin lang sa google search bar sa cellphone ko.
