"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE, LANDO?"

Awkward timing was a funny concept. It was funny because how did time and reality and all things that predicted this to happen, know that at 9 pm on a Friday night, Ashlyn would arrive home early from her trip. The exact time and day that Lando happened to spend with Juliet in her home.

Julie hadn't imagined that Ashlyn would ever be upset and she wished she could say that she had conversed with her about the topic, but quite frankly, she couldn't. She hadn't talked to Ashlyn in almost two weeks.

She felt her ears perk up at the sound of Ashlyn's voice. She wasn't supposed to be home for another week or so.

"Oh, hey Ashlyn. Nice to see you-" Lando's voice was cut off by Ashlyn barging her way through the door. Juliet could hear her marching through the hallway, her loud stomps echoing through the house.

Juliet wasn't sure what her reaction should be. Happiness? Nervous? Fear?

They were all emotions coursing through her mind, freezing her in her spot. The cloth she had in her hand fell to the ground as Ashlyn appeared in the doorway, Lando towering behind her.

She stood from her crouched position on the floor, a nervous smile on her face as she tried to gauge her best friend's emotionless face. "Hi, Ashlyn..."

She could see Lando's face twist into a confused expression, clueless as to why the two girls were acting like this. She knew it was because he had only heard nice things from Juliet about the Spanish girl that she had called her best friend for the longest time.

She couldn't even give him an answer if she wanted to. She hadn't remembered the last time she had a heartfelt conversation with the girl.

"Why is he," Ashlyn pointed behind her where she knew Lando was standing, " in our home."

She had spoken with such vigor that it caught both Lando and Juliet off guard, this wasn't the Ashlyn that the both of them had known. What had changed?

"He came over to hang out, hence the face mask." Juliet spoke, her voice soft.

At the reminder of the face mask, Lando reached to rip it off his face. It wasn't the sort of scenario where you wanted to turn around and see him staring at you in a face mask. Julie knew he was feeling awkward, but she didn't know how to tell him he could go.
