(second last chapter means I gotta whip out the song to listen to once again, everyone listen to 'rescue by lauren daigle' )
JULIET NEVER BELIEVED SHE WOULD LIVE TO SEE THE DAY SHE STOOD IN A TEAM GARAGE. She could remember dreaming about it, wondering when god could grant her the only wish she had ever prayed for.
Her dad had always boasted about his adventures within the paddock, an opportunity he had never taken for granted - although the only reason he was in there was because he wouldn't leave David Coulthard alone until he invited him. He had phrased it like it was the best experience of his life.
Juliet had only prayed for the day it was her turn.
She had lived to see many things, ranging from the Queen of England passing to the fall of Micheal Schumacher - both heartbreaking events from which she would never recover. Yet, she had listed the inside of the paddock as the only thing she would never see. So one could imagine her surprise when Lando shoved the pass in her face and told her their plane left in five hours.
And now, as she stood at the gates of the Abu Dhabi paddock, everything felt incredibly surreal. The fact she was here in the first place when this time last year she was lying in her bed crying about Sebastian Vettel leaving Formula One.
The sound of a car door slamming behind her drew her attention away from the looming red Formula One sign. Lando stood calmly behind her, his hand gripping her bag as he smiled. His eyes squinted in a way that she had always described as beautiful. His face was lovingly kissed by the sun, and his curls shone from the sun's reflection.
He looked beautiful in this light, she was absolutely positive of it.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" He aggressively swiped at his face, trying to remove whatever he thought she saw.
Juliet rolled her eyes, but the wide smile remained on her face, "No. You're just the most gorgeous man I've ever had the blessing of laying my eyes on."
