(and now we listen to ' heal by tom odell')

IT FELT ODD SITTING IN HIS PRESENCE AFTER SO LONG. After hours of pondering whether she would ever get the day to apologize, she finally had the chance but all she could do was sit in silence. It seemed to be her only ability. Being silent.

She had so many things she wanted to say, things she had planned to say. But now, she stared at him as he sat on her bed, his arms cradling the dog he had bought for her not that long ago. Her mind went blank. Well, there was one thought on her mind but it wasn't entirely correlated to the conversation that was bound to happen.

The music was still raging outside the room, but both of them knew everyone out there could no longer care for the party. They had become the new entertainment.

It was Lando who broke the silence first, "I see you got my present?"

It was such a stupid icebreaker that Juliet couldn't help but laugh. Eyeing him up and down with a look that indicated his joke wasn't the least bit funny.

"Yeah, I did. Thanks" she mumbled, picking at the skin around her nails as she looked at her lap.

Another silence befell them, engulfing them as they each looked around the room in an attempt to avoid the other's stare.

She could tell he was analyzing her room and its details, picking up on the souvenirs and trinkets that she had collected over the years. She wasn't opposed to him doing it, if anything she had dreamed of the day she could say Lando Norris was sitting in her bedroom. The circumstances only made it significantly more uncomfortable.

"Look-"

"I want-"

They both attempted to speak at the same time. Both found a hidden confidence within themselves to try and initiate the conversation.

Juliet's face broke out into a smile, giggling softly as she looked at him. The situation had become more awkward and lighter than they had anticipated, so it was nice to see that there was still humor in the air.
