Chapter 2 - The Prophecy

Jake woke up to chatter. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and got up. He looked up at the group of people around the coffee table, and sat down with them. "Morning guys. What time is it?" "Morning? Jake it's 4 in the afternoon" Zander remarked pointing at the pendulum clock on the wall. The information shocked all the tiredness out of Jake "Wait? WHAT?! But where's Sean?" He asked for the ravenette. Zander looked at him with a look that said 'are you seriously this stupid' Milly answered "He's a vampire remember. Sleep during the day, awake during the night? It's common knowledge" "Oh, right, I forgot" Jake sheepishly scratched the back of his neck. "Well what are you guys doing?" This time Luke answered "Well, since you're finally here, we're making a plan of where we're gonna go. According to the prophecy, we have to find the different crystal pieces from the different creature lairs, and after that we have to go to-" "Wait, you talk about this prophecy a lot, but I still don't understand it. What is it? Why exactly am I here? And what does this prophecy have to do with me?" Luke looked nervously at Hailey, who replied with a slight nod. Zander sighed "Well, you wanna know why you're here?" "Well let's start from the beginning then" Hailey lit a candle, and poured blue liquid on it. The flame turned blue and Jake found himself in a blue fog, the others joining him. An image appeared in front of them which looked like a map.

"This was The Dark Forest.." Zander went quiet before completing his sentence "..before the war.." "What war?" Jake inquired. The image changed to different looking creatures fighting "The war that has been going on for centuries. Noone knows how it started, but it caused all the lairs to split up and fight" Luke said with a grim expression. "But I don't understand what this has to do with me!" A new image appeared, there were 6 young children. One of every kind. "The prophecy says, 'After the war has lasted 300 years, 6 children will rise to stop the war. One will be of Devil royalty, the next a witchling, after will be the purest of werewolves, next shall be half-human, a young vampire, and last one of human blood. They will fight and win, but at costs that cannot be matched.'" Hailey explained, Jake went silent. "So I'm part of a war? And I need to work with you guys to stop it?" the image changed once again. This time showing an image of the 6 children fighting a black looking creature. "Does that answer your question?" Milly looked at the baffled blonde with a grin, just as the fog disappeared and they were back in the living room, the candle returning to normal. Jake looked around, trying to process everything that had happened. He opened his mouth, only to be interrupted by a yawn. Sean walked through the door stretching his arms "Hey guys, mornin' Jake. what'd I miss?" Jake couldn't help but laugh, Milly joined him, and soon everyone was laughing. Poor Sean looked around confused "What? Was it something I said?" The lot laughed harder, Sean put on a jokingly serious face "I swear, if anyone hid Mr. Broom again.." he made a threatening motion with his fingers, pulled them across his neck. At that everyone laughed, including Sean. Jake looked around, at this point he didn't care if he had to fight an army of creatures. He was enjoying himself now more than he had ever before. If anything, he couldn't wait for them to go on an adventure with them. Little did he know what he was going to happen on this 'adventure' of theirs.
