Chapter 3 - Getting to Know You (part 1)

After the laughing fit ended, everyone returned to their respective activities. It was still a little light out and Jake took this as an opportunity to get to know everyone better. He walked outside, finding Luke meditating on the soft grass. "Hey Luke, whatcha doin'?" Luke looked at him and smiled "Well as you can see, I'm clearly sleeping in a sitting position" Both boys laughed at the sarcasm. "So, Luke, tell me a bit about yourself" "Well, I like to carve things out of branches" he showed Jake some odd looking things carved out of wood. "I like to draw as well, and I also like-" the brunette bit his lip. "Come on, tell me. I swear I won't tell anybody" Luke looked uncertain but motioned for the blonde to get closer. Jake obliged, but what he heard made him fall over in laughter "I also like to chase my tail" The werewolf blushed "Stop it Jake! I mean it!" Jake regained himself as he sat up "Ok ok sorry, but tell me, how did you meet the others?" "Well I've been friends with Zander and Hailey since childhood, and I met Sean and Milly when we were looking for the other children of the prophecy" "Cool, what's it like in a wolf pack?" "Well, it's like a big family. We're not all related but it feels comforting to have so many looking out for you" Luke looked into space "And ever since I moved away from my pack two years ago, i feel like our little group is my new pack" Luke smiled at the blonde who smiled back. Jake got up. "Well, c'ya Luke, i have to go interrogate some other people too" he winked and ran off to find his next victim. 'This is gonna be fun' Luke thought as he went back to meditate.

Jake walked a bit around the cottage and saw a purple bundle of hair in the distance. 'Zander' Jake thought as he raced to the lilac eyed male. He was about to sneak up to him, when the other male swiftly turned around "Boo" Jake yelped and fell over, he heard snickers and got into a sitting position. "Rude" was all he said as he pursed his lips. "Whatever Human" "Uh, Excuse you. I have a name y'know" "See if I care. What the hell do you want anyway?" "Well I want to get to know everyone better, so, tell me a bit about yourself" Zander eyed the blonde suspiciously "My names' Alexander Wickham, I'm half British and I like to read" He bluntly said standing up, he started walking around. Jake followed him like a baby duckling following its mother. "Well, tell me about your family" "Ugh fine. Hailey is my step-sister. I have a little sister, and I live with my mom and my step-dad." Zander studied the quizzical look of the hazel-eyed male. He let out a sigh before turning around again "Tell me about yourself then" Jake looked slightly taken aback by this, "Well, I like to sing, I know a lot about supernatural creatures, and..Oh, I live with my parents, younger brother and my pet dog-" "WAIT- hol' up! You have a pet DOG?!" Zander's eyes sparkled "Uh- Yes, and his name is Oreo" Zander looked at him confusedly "Oreo?" he said slowly, "What the British mom is that?!" "Dunno' it just sounded cool" Jake shrugged. The blonde looked at the lilac-eyed male, he bit his lip. He wanted to ask a question but he wasn't sure how the boy would react. "Zander.." The purple haired boy looked up "Yeah?" Jake shifted nervously "You said you live with your mom and step-dad right?" "Right, and?" "Well, I was wondering...What happened to your dad?" Zander's face darkened. "He left when I was younger.. He was an asshole!!" Jake gulped, he didn't want to make the other uncomfortable. "Hey, I know we don't know each other well, so if you don't want to talk about it, then that's fine" he gave the younger a reassuring smile. Zander smiled a grateful smile. It was short but it was there. Jake looked at the sun, it was setting now. "Careful now. You don't want the night frights to come getcha'" Jake rolled his eyes as he walked inside to find someone else.

Jake walked inside. He saw a cauldron over a fireplace, "Hmm, wonder what Hailey is making?" As if on cue, the teal haired girl walked in. "Oh hey Jake, how's your mission going. Have you gotten to know anyone yet?" Hailey was the one that had suggested that Jake should go and get to know everyone better. "It's going fine. So, Hailey, tell me a bit about yourself" "Oh, well. I'm sure Zander already told you that were step-siblings, so..." she went quiet, tapping her chin thoughtfully "Well, I became a witch, because I accidentally walked into a witch's house when I was younger, and she cursed me. But if I'm being honest, this isn't the worst curse" she giggled a little "Well, Zander told me your dad married his mom. What exactly happened to your mom?" Hailey stopped giggling, she looked away, and smiled a little, a tear slipped down her cheek. She quickly wiped it. Jake stood up apologizing "Og God, Hailey! I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, I was just asking. It's ok, you don't have to tell me" He helped her up "No no, it's ok Jake. I want you to know that we trust you. I'll tell you" She wiped another tear and started "When I was 3, my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. She was human, and since I was a witch, we couldn't get help from the village. My mom was very ill, and even though I barely remember her. I still remember her last words. She said that no matter what, I should try my hardest to help as many as I can. And here I am, trying to stop a war that's lasted longer than Sean-" "I HEARD THAT HAILEY!" Sean popped his head through the door with narrowed eyes. Hailey and Jake looked at the boy in disbelief. All of them remained in silence for a few seconds. "Do you mind?" Hailey annoyedly asked(demanded). Sean shrugged while walking out, but his voice was still heard "I don't give no shits if you try to talk about Mrs. Austin, don't bring my age into it" Once the boy was gone, Jake and Hailey burst out laughing. "Well so much for telling you about my mom" Hailey managed between laughs. "Well, thanks for trusting me enough to tell me about this" Jake smiled. Hailey nodded. "Well, time to find Milly" Jake exclaimed. Hailey giggled a little, before saluting the boy "Hope you don't die" "Yep. wish me luck" within seconds. Jake was out the door looking for the pinkette.

I wrote half of it on wedensday but i was busy on thursday. and i forgot too post it when i finished on friday, so sorry

This is my longest chapter yet ಥ_ಥ (over 1000 words) *proud noises*

(hehehhe, she don' know this is only the beginning- Soon, 800 words will seem like the norm)

Yes I know, "Why didn't you just make Jake talk to Sean instead, he was right there" well the thing is. im a Sean simp and for that stupid reason i had to save him for last
