Prologue - Alone in the dark

Jake walked across the streets, it was midnight. He'd stayed over at his friend Drew's house for too long, and now he had to walk home on his own. The only light he had were the gas lamps that were hanging from some poles on the sidewalk, other than that, there was darkness.

Jake Sterling, he was an ordinary boy who lived with his parents and younger brother. He had always believed in superstitions and loved singing. He did however have a secret, he believed that there were creatures that lived, and they came sometimes without anybody knowing. Other than that, he was pretty normal. Little did he know his life was about to be turned completely upside down, and the once gothic creatures he believed to exist, would lead him on a journey of so much more than just a walk through town.

He walked for a while until he made it to the edge of a forest. "The Dark Forest..." he quietly whispered. He was about to turn to walk to his house when a slight 'whoosh' caught his ears. He turned swiftly, to face the forest again. There were rumors about the forest being cursed with vampires, werewolves, and such creatures. That's why it was forbidden. Jake knew he shouldn't care about the sound, he knew he should just turn and walk home, but his curiosity got the best of him. He walked into the forest, but it only took him a few steps to realize he made a mistake. He had broken one of the most sacred laws in his village. He had entered The Dark Forest. He immediately turned around to run back. The color drained from his face when he saw that the forest surrounded him on all sides. He heard more voices, whispers. He wanted to scream, shout, call for help. But at that moment, it felt as if someone had kicked all the air out of his lungs. He looked around frantically as the whispers got louder. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head, and he fell over. White spots danced across his vision as the last thing he saw were the silhouettes of 5 people standing over him. After that, everything went black.

Did not expect it to actually be finished.

Funny story, I'm actually starting on chapter 2 now. the reason I don't want to post the chapters as soon as I done writing them is because I'm scared I'll keep y'all waiting for longer than you need to because I'm lazy ;-; 

(hehe, post fanfic Remzy here, ^ is some quality bs right there '>')

I legit just started the second chapter and I'm already procrastinating :,)

I shalt do some proofreading, writing (Procrastinating) then I will give you chapter 1 on F̶r̶i̶d̶a̶y̶ ̶:̶)̶  sometime next week :p
