It was a beautiful Friday for Taehyung as he entered the famous Royal Ace Lounge with his best friend. It had officially been a week since they started working there, which meant they weren’t obligated to have other hosts with them and the boss didn’t have to watch every meeting they had.
But what Taehyung truly anticipated was to see his new ranking that would be revealed on Sunday — in just two days. If what mattered was the earnings he made for the business and the evaluations the clients gave him, he was sure he would be at the top of the list.
But to be honest, any other place would be better than the last. Even if he didn’t get the best possible position, he would be satisfied as long as he wouldn’t encounter a dash beside his name again.
The two walked into the changing room and greeted the few people lolling on the couches. They resumed their way to the back, where two armchairs were located and settled down.
“How was the third customer you booked a room with yesterday?” Jimin asked.
“He was good, but nothing special. I was surprised that he chose me, actually, since I have this ranking. He said he found me pretty.”
“Your looks can override any ranking, Tae.”
Taehyung giggled. “Yeah, things are going better now and it’s only been a week. You know what I found out yesterday?” He tipped closer, not wanting the others to hear him. “The boss is fucking Soojin. Regularly.”
Jimin’s brows slid upwards with a sense of amusement. “How did you find out?”
“I heard them in his office.”
“In his office?” Jimin questioned in a sonorous voice he couldn’t tame. He sent a row of glances to his right where the others were sitting, and thankfully, they didn’t seem to care. “Not very professional, but whatever.”
“Exactly.”
“Do you finally get why I called her a slut?”
Honsu’s unexpected presence startled the two, and Jimin scowled at him at once. “Where the hell did you pop out of?”
“The bathroom,” he snickered, pointing at the door a little further away from his armchair rather demonstratively.
Taehyung tsked. “To answer your question, no, jackass. That still doesn’t give you the right to call her that. Maybe the place they’re doing their thing is inappropriate, but it’s still their business. They’re just having fun.”
Honsu’s lips curled outwards in a moue of aggravation. “Whatever, man.”
Jimin threw a feigned kick his way after Honsu took off, frowning. “I hate him.”
Taehyung snorted at his cute action. “You don’t have to deal with him anymore. Let’s just avoid him.”
. . .
Taehyung did his routine saunter into the casino and stole two customers from gambling in the first hour of work. They bought for him a drink each, but one of them — the filthy rich entrepreneur named Johan — purchased a bottle keep, which was the way of making him his named host and stating interest in him for tomorrow as well. It meant Taehyung would get a percentage of every purchase Johan made for the rest of the night and tomorrow.
If that didn’t put him automatically in the first place of that damn list, he didn’t know what would.
Saerin informed him of his first request for the night, and he trod to the designed table. He found a common-looking man sitting there, probably in his early fifties. He offered him a warm smile with vestiges of playfulness as he eased himself into the couch next to him.
