Enya woke up especially early, getting ready, getting a quick bite to eat, and practically running out the door. She felt nervous, but she believed today would go smoothly, hopefully. You see, Enya isn't the best when it comes to interacting with people, let alone her new coworkers.
Getting to the bus wasn't too hard, but she couldn't help but feel like time was going excruciatingly slowly. Eventually, the bus arrived on time. Walking in, she saw him standing as usual, but this time he was talking to one of the other patrons on the bus. All she could think about was how he looked—relaxed, nothing like his usual tenseness. She was so busy observing that she almost didn't notice she was at her stop.
"Good morning, Soph," Enya said. "Morning, what's got you so jumpy and cheerful?" Sophia asked. "Nothing," Enya responded, running off before Sophia could continue questioning her. I walked to her desk, which was covered in paperwork, little doodles, and nick-nacks from Sophia. 'Okay, let's get this over with so I can get home earlier' Enya thought.
Throughout the day, Enya would converse with her co-workers. She had met a woman named Alexandra, who also worked on paperwork like Enya, a few others, and a few IT guys who did stop in to check if everything was working well. But she had yet to officially introduce herself to the last two people: Jasper and an unknown guy.
'I don't know how Sophia can be cheery all the time; this is exhausting,' Enya thought. Enya was currently sitting at her desk, just staring at her paperwork as if it would disappear if she stared hard enough. Before Enya could even continue her thoughts, she heard a cheerful voice say, "Hey E, Are you doing anything for lunch?" Sophia asked, and Enya sighed, "Not really."
Enya no longer trusted Sophia. At the moment, Enya was at a restaurant, across from Jasper and Sophia's husband, Louis. Breaking the silence, Louis spoke up. "So, how do you know Sophia?" Presumably asked Enya, "She's my best friend." Enya answered in, hopefully, an appropriate tone. "Enya just moved her about a week ago!" Sophia said, "Oh, well, how are you liking it here, Enya?" Louis asked. "It's very nice; I love the weather here," Enya said, with a smile.
As the conversation continued, Jasper kept observing Enya, looking for anything off, overall suspicious of her intentions. Enya kept ignoring Jasper's glare, but Sophia eventually made him join the conversation. "How about you, Jasper? Do you have any questions for Enya?" Sophia asked lightheartedly. "No," he said firmly, looking away from the group, earning a pinch from Louis. (Quick detail: Jasper and Louis are stepbrothers, in turn making Sophia Jasper's sister-in-law.)

After splitting the bill, Jasper quickly walked away from the group; he just couldn't shake the feeling that something was up about that 'Enya' girl if that was even her name.
He's been watching her since she started, but not in a stalker way. She's always doodling at her desk, writing notes, or doing paperwork. Barely leaving unless it's to talk to Sophia or go to the restroom. And lately, she's been staring at him on the bus. Sure, she thinks he doesn't notice her looking at him, but he does.
After returning to his desk, he waited for her to arrive back at her desk. As he had to keep an eye on her, considering it was an order from his father.
-
Finally free from Sophia, Enya returned to her desk with the feeling of being watched, which she was fine with after a while. She knew she would be watched, considering where she worked, the type of work happening behind the scenes, and what her goal was.
"Finally finished," Enya said to herself. She was finally done with her assigned paperwork, and she was now allowed to leave. It was currently 6:07 p.m., and most of the office was gone except for a few who either had things due or hadn't been finished. She thought the feeling of being watched would eventually go away, but it was persistent. But she honestly didn't care anymore and started gathering her stuff.
Saying goodbye to Sophia and walking out of the building, being followed by someone. Taking a seat and waiting for the bus to arrive, 'I'm going to pass out when I get home,' Enya thought to herself.
Walking into the bus and taking a seat, she closed her eyes for a second. Soon enough, she was shaken awake by somebody, roughly. "Hey, what's your problem?" Enya said rudely, due to her fatigue from sleep. "You're going to miss your stop." A male voice responded, finally coming to her senses. She sees Jasper in front of her. Getting up, she lightly shoves him out of the way as the bus slows, "Thanks, I guess," she says to him. He just gives her a look, and she gets off the bus and watches as it speeds off. 'Weirdo' she thought.
Returning home, she closed the door, walked to the dining table, and fell asleep.
