It was a wonderful day in Magnolia: the sun was shining bright, birds were chirping happily and you could breath in a pleasant smell of freshly cut grass.
Or maybe Lucy was just in a good mood that day, since she and her friends, Levy and Freed, were going to meet at the guild library to do some research on a few spells and catch up a bit after a few weeks of not seeing each other. Not that she was surprised, after all the three of them were mages: it was natural for them to go on long mission that lasted even a couple months from time to time.

Finally she reached the building where she and most of her friends worked: Fairy Tail guild. The blonde couldn't help but smile at the sight of her home, a place where she made so many precious memories despite everything that happened, especially after master Makarov disbanded it for a year. The tought always made Lucy feel her eyes sting, but she tried to brush it off. After all, that was all in the past and she was really grateful everything was back to normal.

The young girl was so lost in her thoughts she didn't even notice the chair flying in her direction, as it collided with her head and made her hit the hard wood beneath her.

"Hey, Luce! Why are you lying on the floor?" Natsu, one of her teammates and her best friend, asked.
Lucy tried not to let her irritation show, instead, she greeted her hot-headed colleague and a few others while she made her way to the bar, towards a familiar green mane.

"Hello, Freed! How are you?" She greeted cheerfully.
The said wizard was taken by surprise, but immediately recognised the girl smiled at her "Good morning, Lucy. I'm great today, how about you?" He politely answered.
"I'm more than great! It's been such a long time since we tried some new spell, I can't wait! I'm all fired up!" She beamed.
The rune mage chuckled. "I agree, let's hope to find someting interesting. Also, I was getting some drink for us, since Levy asked. You don't mind some tea, do you?" He asked. "Not at all" Lucy replied with a smile.

As soon as they got their drinks, they started heading towards the guild library, where their petite friend was reading a book.
"Levy-chan! Good morning!" The blondie greeted. The bluette raised her head at the familiar voice, then smiled excited. "Morning, Lu-chan!" She yelled, hugging her best friend as soon as she got whitin reach.

After a few questions such as how did their missions go, they soon found themselves around a table filled with book, but focusing on only one of them.
For a while, they've been trying to cast a spell that could make stronger whoever gets hit by it, a bit like Wendy's enchantments. Every time they tought they got the right magic formula, they were disappointed when nothing happened.

They were considering trying someting else, but when the solid script mage finished the mantra she was reciting, big, hairy, black claws popped up from the book she was holding. The said object fell from her hands to the floor and a creature slowly came out of the book, under the horrified gazes of the three mages.

Soon, a dark creature stood in front of them. It kind of reminded them of a bat, they tought, but it body shape was more human like and it was huge. At least like two Elfman. Its thin eyes were bloodshot red and its breathing was almost as heavy as the tension in the room. A lots of thoughts were running trought the mages minds, but mostly one: how in the world did they manage to summon that thing from a totally different spell?!?

Suddently, the monster lurched towards them and Lucy and Freed took a difensive position to protect their friend. Recently, she found out she was pregnant and ever since then the guild always made sure to keep an eye on her and her needs. Right now, the two couldn't afford to let that thing even stand near Levy, or else none of them would ever forgive themselves.

The bat raised one of its claws, trying to hit Lucy, who quickly dodged the attack.
Freed tried to cast a pain spell on the creature, but it looked like magic didn't work on it.
