Modern AU (prologue)

It was afternoon when the group of mages decided to go to have lunch in the main hall of Fairy Tail, since the spells they tried were surprisingly easy and fast.

They were discussing about what they could do after lunch.

"Can't we just check the list we made?" Freed questioned.

"We already tried everything that we wrote there" Levy replied.

"Maybe we can search some new books" Rufus reasoned.

"We already read all of those. Unfortunately, our library isn't that big" Lucy sighed.

"I understand. You know, lately, I've been thinking about asking master Sting to give you guys the permission to visit our library"

"Isn't Sabertooth's library open to only its guild members, like every guild?" the bluette questioned.

"Yeah, but I got permission to enter Fairy Tail's library and master Bob even let us accede to Blue Pegasus' library just because Freed is an ex member. It would be a shame not to let you see ours, since its the most provided library in all Fiore... well, after the ones in Mercurius palace and the Council of course"

They started their little bookclub a few months after the Battle of Fairy Tail, Rufus joined after the Grand Magic Games and at first it was just a few meetings to talk about the books they read and what kind of stories they could recommend to each other.

It was after the battle against the Alvarez Empire, when everything calmed down, that they started to study a lot of different spells from the Council's archives. Levy worked there for a year, so they got a special permission from Warrod and the other Wizard Saints, since they liked her a lot.

The same thing happened with princess Hisui when she became queen, Lucy is a close friend of her, after all.

With the access to Sabertooth's library, they would achieve another important site to wreck.

The Fairy Tail wizards' eyes started sparkling with joy.
Soon they started to bombard the memory mage with questions about the library.

Rufus thought they couldn't get happier than that, but after a few minutes Mirajane approached them with a pile of books.

"Hey guys! We were asked to keep these spell books in our library by the Council, since their archives are full. Could you find them a place? I would do it myself, but I think that you would do a better job" she explained.

"Of course, Mira!" Lucy beamed happily.

"We will be happy to help you!" Levy exclaimed.

"You can put those on the table, when we finish our lunch we will take care of them right away" Freed assured.

"Thank you so much!" The take over mage said before heading to kitchen.

The four wizards finished their lunch pretty fast after that conversation and headed the library to see what kind of books they just got.

They all were decorated with slim silver lines that danced across the spine and reached for the titles. All of them were weird and contained the letters 'AU'.

Suddently, a white book fell on the ground, a few notes falling out of it.

They started picking up the papers after putting the book on the table, wide open.

There were weird messages on those notes.
