For the rest of the day, Levy tried to find way to break the spell that made her friends fall in love with each other and, with Lucy's help, she came to the conclusion that the spell was perfect, but they translated badly the title.
Instead of absorbing someone's energy, it made the ones who stood in the circles fall in love with each other. Or at least, that's what Levy understood. Apparently, in that language, the word 'absorb' was pretty similar to the word 'love'.

She was ready to kick her herself when she realised that with ONE wrong word got them into that mess.

"Shrimp." Her boyfriend, Gajeel, called her. She raised her head.

"What's wrong?" He asked. The black haired man was never good with words  and preferred to go to point.

"Nothing" she replied. She hated to lie to him like that, but she was too prideful to admit her mistake.

"Don't lie to me Levy."
It was rare for him to call her by her name. The petite mage felt her throat go dry at the idea of confessing what she had just done.
If only she read everything correctly, this wouldn't be happening.

Gajeel came up to her with a cup of hot chocolate and handed it to her.
The bluette thanked him and started sipping at it. There was an odd silence, neither of them knowing what to say.

In the end, it was Gajeel who broke it. "Just because you're going to be a mother doesn't mean that you won't be able to study your ancient books anymore." He said calmly.

"Huh?"

"Y'know... you're not alone. There is Lily, the guild and... it would be kind of shitty of me to knock you up and leave you to deal with the kid by yourself..." he explained.

Levy smiled. Somehow, whitout even knowing what the problem was, he managed to ease her worries.

She wasn't alone after all...

"Nevermind, just go to sleep." He brushed it off, blushing madly. It was a big deal from the iron mage and she was grateful.

"Alright"

They headed to their bed, partly occupied by a sleeping Lily.
They made sure not to wake him up as they crawled under the covers, Levy sitting with her back on the headboard and Gajeel hugging her waist tightly.

The pregnant mage reached for the book rested on the bedside table, but then she noticed that she already finished that one.
She usually read some fictional books before sleeping because it helped her to relax, but it looked like that night she would have to go to sleep without it.

"Here." Gajeel passed her another book, one from that pile that she just got and that didn't had time to find a place for, so she definitely didn't read that yet.
He must have taken it when they passed the table where all those newly aquired books were lying.

"Thank you" she said in awe.
"Just read a few chapters and make sure to sleep" he murmured before closing his eyes.

Levy kissed his head before reading the book's cover.

Conventional love by Amalia Boswell

The petite girl was sure she already heard that name somewhere.

She read it without stopping until she finished that and when she did, she stared at the closed book with her eyes open wide.

That women was the wife of the man who wrote the book which contained the spell that hit her friends.

She told her story in that book. How she grew up trying to fulfill her family's expectations and was forced to marry a man she didn't know. Mr. Boswell was a mage, so they decided to create a spell to make the person who uses it love the one standing in the other circle as much as they loved the person that rested deep in their hearts. If one of the people standing inside the magical circle doesn't feel a deep affection towards someone, then the spell shouldn't work.
