The conversation between the four mages lasted a few hours. It would have taken a lot more, if Minerva didn't come into the room to kidnap Rufus, reminding him what he was supposed to do for them to pay him.
It wouldn't be that bad, if they actually came up with some solutions. Instead, they just talked about the many books they read and how the characters got out of trouble.
Now, Levy was getting out of another carriage. Another couple of hours passed since she left Sabertooth, since she met Lisanna on the way home and they decided to catch up.
The bluette wasn't able to gain more important informations from her, so her situation didn't improve a bit.
If only she had a clue about where Gajeel was, she could have told him about the baby. Even if that wasn't her dragonslayer, she was sure he would never leave her.
The solid script mage kept walking with her head low, not knowing what to do next.
"Keep your back straight, you look shorter than usual"
The bluette's head snapped upwards at the familiar voice and her eyes sparkled when she saw the person she wanted to see the most in that moment.
"Gajeel!" She exclaimed with surprise, happy that the iron mage came to her on his own.
The other just smirked.
Levy wasn't sure if she was supposed to tell him about the baby right away, it didn't seem like the best idea. But she didn't need to say anything else, because Gajeel wouldn't let her.
"I just wanted to talk to you. Let's go to a more private place"
They started to walk away from the main street, hoping to find a more quiet place where they could talk in peace.
Levy used that short amount of time to inspect the guy in front of her. The only difference was in the clothing. He was wearing a leather jacket, which was still similar to his usual stile, but there was no doubt that he was Gajeel. Maybe not exactly the one she knew and loved, but it was still him. This made it harder. Even if that was a fake Gajeel made from the magic of the book, Levy couldn't bring herself to hurt him in any way, especially by telling him he is going to be a father while he's in a weak state of mind.
When she told his Gajeel about the pregnancy, he was overjoyed, but only because he had time to recover a bit from all the traumatic things that happened to him. This Gajeel apparently had a fight with Levy and she didn't want to baby trap him.
She was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't realise the other had stopped. She collided with his back, loosing her balance and falling. Thankfully, Gajeel grabbed her waist and held her tight.
They looked in each other's eyes for a few seconds, before the raven haired man panicked and let the poor bluette fall on her ass.
"What do you think you're doing?!" She shrieked.
"Why are you blaming me?! You should be more careful!" He shot back.
They kept glaring at each other as Levy raised herself from the ground and took the dust off her.
"Anyway" the dragonslayer started when she was done "I... I wanted to talk... about yesterday" he muttered, looking away and with a deep blush covering his cheeks.
