As soon as the group managed to get to the guild and report their missions to the master, Lucy and Freed went to the library where Levy was still trying to find that counterspell, told her everything that happened in that short amount of time while helping cleaning up the library and started heading to the bar to have a drink.
"So, you guys are really fine now?" She asked and the other two nodded.
"That's great! In the end, it was true love's kiss that solved the situation. Just like in fairy tales!" She exclaimed."True love kiss?" Freed questioned.
"Yeah, the one that woke up Snowhite or the sleeping beauty from their slumbers, for examples." She explained.
"Did anyone ever read some bedtime story to you?""My nanny used to do that. But she only read to me stories approved by my parents"
"I guess your parents were those kind of people that wanted you to grow up into someone who knows how the world acually works, just like my father" Lucy intervened.
"Yeah, they didn't want me to waste my time daydreaming."He explained before taking a seat.
"So, what kind of tales did they read to you?" The petite girl asked.
"Well, my maids sometimes came by to read the original stories of the tales normal kids listen to" the blond started "but after running away I read some of the versions everyone know".
"Can you tell me some? Snowhite, for example, what happens in the actual tale?" Levy questioned. She knew the original vesions of some other tales, like the little mermaid, but she stopped reading those because she felt too hearthbroken for the characters. Plus, she was only 10 when she tried to read them.
"Well..." Lucy started.
Once upon a time, on a snowy evening, a queen who was knitting some clothes for the baby that was growing inside her.
"Wait..." Levy interrupted. "Why does she look like me?" She questioned.
"It could be because you give a motherly look now more than ever" Freed guessed.
"That must be the reason" Levy laughed.
The queen kept working, until she hurt herself with a needle.
When she saw the small amount of blood, she looked out of her window and sighed.
"Oh, how much I whish for my baby's skin to be as white as the snow out there, cheeks as red as blood and hair as black as pitch." She sighed. After a few months, the queen gave birth to a beutiful boy who had those exact physical carateristics.
"Boy? And why does he look like Rogue from Sabertooth?" Lucy intervened.
"He was the only one we know who resembled Snowhite at least a bit" her best friend explained. "Now I wonder if my baby will look like him, since Gajeel has black hair and red eyes, too" she added.
Unfortunately, the queen died soon after his birth and the king got married to a strong yet mean man.
"Seriously, Lucy?" Freed quirked his eyebrow.
"Since I'm still mad at Nastu for saying my breath is worse than Happy's after we kissed, he is going to be evil" the blonde cut short. The new king had a magical mirror to whom he would ask every day the same question and receive the same answer.
The years passed, until one day the king went to his room and asked the mirror:
"Mirror, mirror on the wall: who's the strongest of them all?"
"Not you flamebrain." The mirror answered.
"Why you little- you're a mirror! You don't count, ice princess!" He yelled.
