The bridge
Olasird'arc: And that is what you have if you accept our deal beastmen
Olasird'arc and his wife were standing on the other side of the bridge ready to snap the bridge cutting off the access point towards the hold. At the beginning of the bridge stand before were hundreds of beastmen listening in on the negotiation that they'll be able to get a hold and some help from dragons if they kill this bigger dragon residing where they were migrating. The leader of the beastman stepped forward to the entrance of the bridge and spoke.
Pe Riyuro: This deal you mention involves us killing one dragon
He said raising his finger up to gesture a point.
Pe Riyuro: Why don't you do it yourselves then? Or is this some ploy of your master to send us all to die then come and sweep our remain
Olasird'arc cursed himself. These beastmen are much smarter than they appeared to be. But stuffed his anger and pride to explain a half-truth.
Olasird'arc: Yes. That dragon is our master, but I don't follow him out of loyalty, I followed him out of fear after he had bested me in combat, ever since then I was a slave to his bidding, until the day came when I couldn't anymore and escaped with as many dragons as I could, but not without cost
Then he turned his head and pretended to cry.
Olasird'arc: My brother sacrificed himself to save us, so please, honor his sacrifice and help me avenge his death
He continued to fake sobs even more.
Olasird'arc: "Hope these fools make choices based off of emotion"
He thought. Pe Riyuro processed this information and spoke back.
Pe Riyuro: Give us a moment to consider this request of yours
Olasird'arc wiped away his eyes to sell his fakeness as legitimate.
Olasird'arc: Please take all the time you need
As the Leader of the beastmen went inside the crowd. He couldn't help but curse this leader into making him perform this humiliating trick.
Olasird'arc: That welp, how dare he make me debase myself like that
He said through gritted teeth.
Olasird'arc: At least most of them will die when he accepts this deal so the shame of this is never remembered
He reassured himself believing that the beastman before them would be the first to die. Back at the huddle. Pe Riyuro was talking to his advisors about the situation.
Pe Riyuro: So the dragon over there was just subjugated and is not taking it well, he is going to use us to be meat shields so that he'll swoop in and take over our new home, your thoughts?
The Advisors groaned, not surprised that this is another dragon scheme, Till one of his generals further back came in and heard the tail end of it.
General Beastmen: Wha, how did you know all of that?
Pe Riyuro tapped his ears
Pe Riyuro: Heard him when he was grumbling, also saw through the sobbing remark, dragons don't cry unless their lives or treasures are being threatened, as well as them being proud creatures, if the stories are to be believed
They all nodded from their leader's flawless reasoning. But grimace at the lack of the option to say no.
Yozo: I don't believe we have a choice in this matter, even if we fought those dragons and won. We would still be weakened to the point of extinction
