Maxine's POV
"Mom...?"
I saw my mom lying down on the bed with a man on top of her.
Both naked.
"Ugh. Who is this?"
The guy asked
"M-my daughter..."
"You said you don't have one"
"Yamato... let's run..."
I whispered to him.
"Don't even think about running. Or else I'll shoot you both."
The man grabbed his gun.
"W-wait! Please don't shoot my daughter!"
"Shut up!"
They both started dressing up.
"We're not yet finished. I'll come back tomorrow evening. And make sure that I won't get to see you both!"
(He's referring to Maxine and Yamato)
He glared at us and left.
"Max, explain to me. Why are you with him? And why are you out?"
I stayed silent
"Answer me!"
"I-I was just trying to... find you...!"
"Find me? With all those candies in your hands? Stop making excuses. Its obvious that you went trick or treating with the guy that I told you not to be with."
"I-I'm sorry, ok?! Why am I not allowed to go out anyway?! And not to be with him?!"
"What's your name again?"
"Yamato... Yamato Uchida"
"Yamato... I suggest that you go home already."
"I'll be going now..."
He whispered to me and left.
"Max, you know the consequences towards your actions, don't you?"
"I do but I still can't understand why I can't be with him."
"Why can't you just do what I say?"
"There wasn't any reason"
"So, you chose to be like this just because you're an adult already? But that doesn't mean you can talk to me like that!"
She approached me and pulled me by my hair.
"Let go!"
"I'm taking you back to the hospital. By Friday morning, we're leaving this country."
"What?!"
"That's why you should follow everything I say."
"Yea this who you are. You only care about yourself and what you want. You never cared about what I feel! Why did I have to be with whore like you!"
She slapped me by my face.
"Don't you ever call me that again!"
She grabbed my Halloween costume and candies
And threw them away in the trashcan
"We're leaving this week. Whether you like it or not."

Maxine's POV
I followed her until we get to the hospital.
"I suggest that you pack your things already."
"Why can't I be with him?"
"I'm leaving"
"WHY CAN'T I BE WITH HIM?!"
"Shut your mouth."
She sighed and sat down
"The moment I heard his last name which is Uchida, I already know who he was. He has connections with the one that killed your father."
"W-what? I-I thought he died due to car accident since he was drunk...?"
"Your father doesn't drink. Hinote Uchida, did put something on his drink."
"Why?"
"He actually offered money to your father so that we would win. He paid your father to lose the race but your father disagreed."
"How much did he offer?"
"19 million... Dollars"
I gasped.
"I told your father that he should just accept it since Hinote Uchida is dangerous. But your father really loved racing so he declined it."
"Is he jailed?"
"No. He paid a big amount of money to close the case."
Is Yamato really that rich?
"I didn't want you to get involved with that guy. It's dangerous now. If you really love him, then let go. He would get in trouble too. I'm sure he was warned not to make connections with any Abbruzzese."
She's right... But I don't want to leave him.
"What was Hinote Uchida's job?"
"I believe he's a Mafia boss. He had criminal records before he became one. He has the armed national police force in control. He owns a lot of companies in Japan. People fear him. He's friends with the President of Japan and they can't touch him."
"Is he really that powerful?"
My mom nodded.
"I know you won't leave him and he won't leave you. So, I think it's best for us to leave."
"But me and Yamato can keep our relationship in secret..."
"You think that'll work? It didn't work on me so will it work to his father?"
"He's not in this country."
"I'm sure Yamato has guards everywhere."
My mom grabbed her bag to leave.
"I'm also tired of my job. What you saw earlier, was my job. We'll live with your cousin Harriet. So, cheer up."
"What about your business?"
"I'll close it."
What...?
"I'll be leaving now."
I couldn't say no after hearing about the Uchida family
Why did he have to hide it from me?
Also mom... Why did they hide it from me?!
No matter what I do, we'll still leave this country.
