Stone looked up from the plants that he was tending to, wiping a bit of sweat off of his forehead. He wasn't wearing his usual work clothes, just a loose off the shoulder top with no sleeves, over an old tight vest top, a pair of shorts, and some sandals.
The Lusttale Skeleton smiled, his face was covered in smudges of dirt, and his lower arms were speckled in dirt that had been kicked up by his gardening.
He picked up a towel, and he started to cover up the potatoes, wanting to encourage them to grow down, instead of up.
He hummed as he did this, carefully patting the dirt down, over the growing vegetable, within a few months, they would be able to harvest them, and prep them for storage.
A chirp got his attention, and he looked up to see Solace, chirping at him. "Hi Little Petal... Wandering what I am doing?"
Solace nodded their head.
"I'm just earthing the potatoes, this encourages them to grow down, instead of up."
"Tato?"
"It's the yummy fluffy vegetable that you had with cheese and beans. I'm growing more of them."
"Tatos!"
Stone chuckled. "Yes. We'll have more Tatos soon."
"Yay!"

"Now, you will want to push the needle through the hole in the fabric here, and bring it to this hole..." Break explained, as he walked Solace through how to make a Cross Stitch, and the young Skeleton blinked as they looked at their mess of snitches, comparing it to Break's neater snitches, chirping.
Break out his needlework, and he patted the top of Solace's head. "You'll get it eventually. It can be quite hard to master, but it's easy to do when you know what you're doing."
Solace purred, nudging their head against the hand that was patting their head.
Break smiled. "Alright you little kitten, I guess that it wouldn't hurt to keep patting your head for a few more minutes."
----
Solace blinked at the night sky above their head, staring at a group of four stars that were close together, with a fifth one next to them.
They reached upwards, towards the stars, attempting to grab them, when something emerged from the fog in their head...
"You know, I think that those stars are us."
A skeleton wearing a lot of fluffy clothing appeared, in their line of sight, staring up at five stars that were shining in the sky.
"You do?"
"Yeah!" The fluffy Skeleton nodded their head. "I see them in every AU that I have been to, when we're on the surface. I like to think that the four stars are you, me, and the others, with the fifth star being the Boss."
"Huh..."
"I also like to think that it's a promise, that no matter what happens, we'll always have each other's back, and won't turn on each other..."
"You put a lot of faith into promises... Aren't you scared that it will backfire on you?"
"I am... But promises are one of the few things that haven't screwed me over... Yet..."
".... I don't like making promises..."
"I know..."
"But... Sometimes, you make promises without realising that you made one..."
"Huh?"
"I won't let you lose your faith in the night stars... Not when it's something that I still hold onto..."
"Thanks..."
"Don't mention it."
Solace sniffed, and they felt tears running down their face. "Why?" They sobbed. "Why did you hurt us friend? Why? What did I do wrong?!"

Sorry for the late update, I started writing this chapter with an idea of where I wanted it to go, only to lose the plot and step back, while I waited for my brain cells to find that lost plot line.
Anyway, the update schedule of Seeking Solace might be changing soon... From a once a week update schedule, to a once every two weeks update schedule.
This is until I have enough chapter backlog to comfortably post a chapter once a week again, and I might have to change the update day again. It turns out that I tend to get quite busy during the first few days of a week, so changing the update day may help me remember to update this story.
Anyway, we have one more chapter to go before we have a timeskip, I'm planning to jump into the future by a year, and the other plots should start to pick up too. This should be fun...
