Chapter 22 - Kiss

Rashmi didn't meet his eyes and heard him say, "I know that you won't tell me the reason".  He came too close to her and said with his breath fanning on her face, "Rest assured, I will find out the reason myself".

Rashmi gulped in nervousness as Agni stood too close to her but still she dared to keep looking into his eyes.  Agni stared into her eyes and he felt relaxed that her eyes don't show any fear of doing something wrong.  He felt relieved that whatever secret she holds, it doesn't have anything to do with disrupting the peace of the people in this realm.  He kissed her forehead and he stayed in that position for a few seconds, letting her soak in the moment.

Rashmi felt her heart beat rapidly and she was in the verge of shivering due to such intimate contact for the first time.  As he stayed still with his lips on her forehead, she closed her eyes to calm her erratic heart beat.  Agni pulled away from her, making her open her eyes.  He took a step back but she moved forward again, keeping their bodies inches from each other.  He again took a step back while she moved forward again.

After a few more steps, Agni gripped her both arms to keep her at arms distance and asked, "What are you trying to do?".  Rashmi replied, "I'm trying to see how long it will take you to kiss me properly on my lips".  He looked surprised at her answer and then smirked at her while saying, "So you want to kiss me?  But what is our relationship that allows us to kiss?".  She glared at him and said, "We are soulmates who are bounded to eachother for lives.  If you have any doubt, I can show you the mark".

Saying so Rashmi was about to turn around to show her mark but he tightened his grip on her arms and pulled her near him and wrapped his one arm around her waist to keep her in place.  Then he said, "We both know that truth but I'm asking whether you are fully embracing that relationship by your heart? Are you ready to spend your entire life as my wife?".

Rashmi looked into his eyes but didn't speak anything.  As Agneya sighed and about to release her from his hold, she put both her hands on his shoulders and joined their lips while tiptoeing to reach his height.  Both of them froze in their positions but she didn't make any other move and just kept her lips over his.  After a few seconds, she moved away and stood steadily and then said, "I think you got my answer by now". 

Rashmi was about to move away but Agni tightened his hold on her waist and pulled her more closer and captured her lips in a soul stealing kiss.  Rashmi was shocked by his intensity and looked at him with widened eyes while he concentrated on her lips.  Her breath got stuck as he sucked her lips while biting it in between.

Agni left her lips and looked at her, who was breathing heavily and was trying to calm down her breathlessness.  His lips formed a beautiful smile as he took in her face which was red, either due to shyness or breathlessness, he doesn't know.  Rashmi touched her lips and hissed as there was some wound due to his biting and glared at him.  But instead of fear, his smile widened more as her red face seemed funny to him.

Rashmi turned to move out of his chamber when she felt a hold on her wrist but she didn't turn around to look at him.  He said, "You can go through the portal.  No need to walk your way back".  She didn't reply anything and also didn't turn around.  Then she heard the portal open, she quickly went to the portal and he too followed her to her chamber and took his usual place on the couch to sleep.

The next day classes went on as usual.  Agneya attended space class and Rashmi had a hard time keeping her eyes away from him.  She kept glancing him then and now.  Agni could feel her stares but didn't look towards her desk, and just smiled silently without anybody's notice.  Soon the classes got over and everyone retired to their chambers.

Rashmi had finished her dinner when Agni entered her chamber.  He took his seat in the couch and looked at her for sometime.  Then he said, "Coming weekend, there is sarvayogita competition right?".  She nodded in yes and he continued, "I think you will be challenged again".  She frowned at his words and asked, "Why do you think so?". 

Agni replied, "Last time, you have hurted their ego by proving that Space power is no less, compared to other powers.  So their other friends might challenge you this time, to prove you inferior to them".  She accepted his argument but then asked, "How did you know that they are against me?".  He replied, "I may not have known you before.  But I do observe what happens around me.  That group of friends from Royal families, want to build their relationship with Royal family of Pranyakta and to appease Dakshesh, they can do anything against you.  So just be careful and mindful when you fight them".

Rashmi nodded at him and thought about them.  He laid down on the couch and was about to sleep when she came near him and as she was about to shake him, he caught her hands.  He looked at her and raised his eyebrows asking her 'what?'.  She pulled at his hands to make him sit. 

Agni sat upon the couch and waited for her to speak.  She said, "Did you forget about what I told about your punishment?".  He stood up and said, "Why should I be punished when I haven't done anything wrong?".  She just stared at him and said nonchalantly, "Punishment is already decided.  You have to kiss me everyday before sleep, otherwise you shouldn't enter my chamber".

Agni answered back immediately, "I still don't understand why there should be a punishm-".  He stopped midway as he realised what she asked and then looked at her with a smirk and said, "I guess the punishment is necessary".  He pulled her in for a kiss.

Agneya asked Rashmi furiously, "Did you know this will happen?  Is that the reason why you prevented Meghnath Bhai from attending the ceremony?".
