Agneya - The Unknown King

Chapter 34 - Dream

After Agneya came back inside, the shadow moved away from his chamber.  The couple prepared to sleep and got into the bed and cuddled together.  Then Agni said, "I'm sorry for asking that question regarding him.  I promise I will never bring his name again in between our relationship".  Rashmi smiled at his confession and kissed his cheeks.  Then both slept off.

The next morning both Agni and Rashmi went to the Academy, using the portal.  Rashmi parted ways to go to her class and Agni went in the opposite way.  While walking through the corridor, he felt that someone was moving behind him and turned back to check upon it.  Only to find no one behind him.  He became alert as this was the same feeling he got last night.

Agni closed his eyes and concentrated on the sound of the flash movements behind him and caught the hand of the intruder at the correct time.  The hand which was caught by him, had a axe in it which was stopped right infront of his neck.  Agneya inflicted thunder strike on the hand, making it lose hold on the axe and it fell down.  He turned back to see the attacker, only to be flabbergasted on finding a shadow figure which didn't even have a face.

Soon the shadow disappeared into thin air, leaving Agneya to wonder if it was his imagination but the axe on the ground proved it wrong.  He looked around to see if any other student had noticed or not.  But coincidentally, there was no other person present there.  Leaving this issue aside, he went for his class.

On the other side, in the Royal palace of Pranyakta, Charusheela was frustrated on the failure of her attempt.  And threw away some things to express her frustration.  Damini came in with her food and this increased her anger as she couldn't join the Royal family in their official breakfast table because of her position as secondary wife.

Just as she was about to throw away the plate, Damini kept the food at a distance and came to help her sit down on the bed forcefully.  Damini said, "Rajkumari, please control your anger as it won't do any good to you.  Please calm down".  The maid felt very bad to see this state of her Rajkumari who had always been a naive girl with pure heart.  She thought, " I don't know why God tests only good people".

Finally Charu had calmed down and accepted food from Damini.  Later she decided to think of the secret place where the weapon could be kept, as she doesn't have anyother work in the palace.  So in the pretext of looking around the palace, she explored different corridors and reached the garden.

While sitting in the garden, she heard some Palace maids talking among themselves.  One maid asked, "Did you clean the corridor and lounge area of the court room?".  The other maid answered, "Yes, I did.  Only the main courtroom is left".  Immediately the first maid replied, "No it's not needed.  Only the most trusted maid of Samrat will clean the courtroom and also his study chamber.  So we don't need to bother about that".

Frowning at the new information, the new maid asked, "Why is that so?".   The old maid replied, "We don't know exactly but the precious rule book of the Royal family is kept there".  Charu listened their talk and chucked it off as some random talks but later a thought strike her mind, "Last night, I didn't check the court room.  May be the weapon is also hidden there".  She left the garden in deep thoughts.

In the Academy, during the lunch time, Agneya shared the details of the attack with Rashmi and both of them decided to share it with Samrat and Meghnath once the day is over.  Later at night, after the dinner is over, Agneya and Rashmi disclosed the matter to Samrat and Meghnath, who were shocked.

Samrat said, "This just indicates that the power of Asuras is growing each day.  Which means, someone had come under their complete possession and able to use the dark powers.  Before they could reach the palace, we should find a way to destroy the Asuras.  But how?".

Rashmi and Agni looked at eachother but couldn't tell the other two about Charusheela as they couldn't disclose about how Rashmi knew all this.  So they kept quiet and after a few minutes, Samrat said, "I think, we should check the history books about how our ancestors had sealed that forbidden gate.  May be that could help us find a way to destroy them forever".

All of them nodded in affirmation and then decided to disperse when Samrat asked Agneya to stay back for some minutes.  Rashmi left the study chamber and went to her chamber and got ready to sleep.  Here Samrat asked Agni, "So Rashmi knew about the Asuras?".  The latter nodded at him and said, "Yes, she also knew why and how I came here.  Also the fact that I will leave this realm once my work is done". 

Saying so, Agni left the chamber and Meghnath too followed him out, leaving Samrat to think about his past actions and also his daughter.  Outside the chamber, Meghnath said, "It is good that you have good communication with your wife".  Agni nodded at him still with his stoic face and moved towards his chamber.

As soon as he entered the chamber, he found Rashmi to be fast asleep in a sitting position itself and laid her down slowly.  Then he went on to change his clothes and came to bed.  He pecked her lips and then slept while taking her in his arms.  In the middle of the night, Rashmi woke up with a jerk, which eventually made Agni to wake up as well.

Agni gave her a glass of water first and rubbed her back.  Once she had calmed down, he asked, "What happened?".  She narrated, "Once again the same dream, where your head was cut off and rolled on the ground.  But this time, there were little bit more details.  The place where this happened is the Royal courtroom.  And even Rajkumar Meghnath, Dakshesh and Samrat were present in that place, when this has happened".

Agni consoled her and asked her sleep while saying that they will discuss it when they will wake up the next day.  After that, even Agni felt that there is some indication in the dream regarding the impending war.  Then he too slept off.
