I..I.s..sorry S..Sir. theodore closed his eyes as his patience was breaking
Aria! I would not appreciate any interference in my work, you know it? SO its me who asked her to call me Theo. I am not answerable to anyone but still I am clarifying you stay away from my matters. Enjoy the company of your friends.Saraswati felt bad as Arias face showing hurt
Arias eyes flashed with irritation but she forced a smile. "Of course, Theodore. I was just making conversation."and she went away swearing to get it avenged.
Saraswati appreciated Theodores support but felt a surge of anxiety when she noticed her colleague, Gwen, hovering too close. Gwen had a habit of being overly familiar, and today was no exception. As he reached out to adjust a saree alongwith Saraswati, his hand brushed against Saraswati's shoulder more often than necessary, making her uncomfortable.
"The designs look amazing," Gwen said, his hand lingering a moment too long on her back.
Saraswati stepped slightly away, trying to keep her discomfort hidden. "Thank you, Gwen. Lets focus on setting everything up perfectly."
Theodore watched the interaction, a frown forming on his face. He didn't like how Gwen was behaving, and it was clear Saraswati didn't either. Despite his usual composed demeanor, he felt a pang of jealousy and irritation.
Saraswati and Gwen stood side by side at the large table in the center of Theodores sleek, modern place, showcasing the intricate designs to him.
Gwen, assigned to help Saraswati present, was overly enthusiastic in her approach. She kept inching closer to Saraswati, her hand occasionally brushing against Saraswati's arm or shoulder under the guise of encouragement. Theodore's jaw clenched every time Gwen made contact, a surge of jealousy rising within him.
He tried to maintain his composure, but the sight of Gwen's hand lingering on Saraswati's arm was almost too much to bear. As Saraswati described the intricate embroidery of a kurti, Gwen placed a hand on her back, ostensibly to emphasize a point, but it felt too familiar, too intimate.
Theodores inner monologue was a storm of conflicting emotions.
*What is Gwen doing? Cant she see how uncomfortable Saraswati is? Why does she have to be so touchy?*
His fingers drummed against the mahogany desk, his frustration building. He struggled to focus on the presentation, his thoughts consumed by the scene unfolding before him.
*Gwen knows better. This isnt professional. And why is it bothering me so much?*
As Gwen leaned in once more, her hand brushing against Saraswatis, Theodores patience snapped. He cleared his throat, drawing the attention back to himself. "Thank you, Gwen," he said, his tone colder than he intended. "I believe Saras can handle the rest of the presentation on her own."
"Josh," Theodore called out, his tone firm. "Why don't you help Gwen with arranging the other side of the display? We need everything to be symmetrical."
Josh, oblivious to the underlying tension, nodded. "Sure, Mr. Hawthorne."
As Gwen moved away, Saraswati gave Theodore a grateful look. "Thank you," she said softly.
Theodore's gaze softened. "No need to thank me. Just want to make sure you're comfortable and everything runs smoothly."
Gwens smile faltered, but she stepped back, sensing the underlying tension. "Of course, Mr. Hawthrone," she replied smoothly, though there was a hint of defiance in her eyes.
