Daniel was about to run right next to the safe zone but he heard some noise in there
"Not good..." he thought, the chances of his sister surviving are already really slim but now he is pretty sure she will die. At least to his logic. The buck knew he couldn't be seen by them, he would get killed, so he backed away slowly. He put Cindy down, he wasn't able to find help in time and he knew that. He was holding back tears as he decided to run away, not being able to see the catte die in front of him. He was regretting that he can't even be with her in her final moments. Cindy watched him walk away, despite everything she understood why he left, she was still upset but she understood, she soon passed out.
A few hours has passed, Cindy didn't expect that but she woke up, she was shocked and she felt that something was off, she didn't felt any pain from her wound even though it hurted like hell earlier. It took a moment for her to realize that she was in a different room, this made her even more confused but she just assumed someone found her and helped her. She looked behind her only to see a tall hooded figure which appeared to be a dark protogen. Well, this must be her saviour, but that didn't stop her from feeling puzzled.
"W... What is going on...?" she asked, she was feeling lightheaded which she didn't like, she hoped for a quick explanation but at the same time didn't expect an.
"It appears you have almost died, please do not panic." the dark protogen answered in a strangely calm tone.
"W-what...? I mean... Of course i did but... Does my brother even know i'm still alive!?" Cindy started to panic despite what the dark protogen said.
"I understand your concerns but there is nothing to worry about, just find him and he'll see that you're still there." he tried to explain with the catte listening.
"Ok... You helped me, is there anything you want in return?" Cindy calmed down a little bit.
The dark protogen looked her in the eyes.
"There is something... But whatever it is may not be something you'd like..." He was still being vague.
"What is it?! I'll do anything!" Cindy was starting to cheer up hearing this.
The protogen took a deep breath(despite not having to breath) and said
"I'll need you to work for me." The protogen finally responded. The catte wasn't really upset or anything just confused what the work will be, but it's a matter for the next chapter.
Chain ran to the garden in hopes of finding Bloom, he knew that if anywhere she would be here, so it wasn't shocking that she was actually here. He immediatly told her to follow him and nothing else, the ghost fox agreed. As the two were going down a hallway the whole facility went black with only the crystals giving light.
Chain's fur immediatly started getting darker due to him being both a normal and a dark protogen. Bloom got surprised at the sudden change, she quietly followed Chain to the next room which was the flooded area.
The protogen was annoyed that she was so easy to catch off guard.
"You're a coward." he immediatly told her "Anyway... I'm just going to turn on the power." he continued.
"Wh- wait... You can do that..?" Bloom was a bit shocked.
"Yeah, i'm sure i can!" he responded before walking away.
Chain returned to the ghost fox, the lights were still off with the protogen being visibly upset.
"It didn't work..." he grumbled, Bloom wasn't exactly happy about that but he tried and she respected that.
Then there was a deafening silence between the two, that was untill a completely new voice said something.
"Oh yes! Finaly, after all those years!"
"Who's there!?" Bloom hid behind Chain.
Suddenly a weird raytraxian landed perfectly in front of them. It seemed to be a mix between a protogen and a plantix.
"Name's Petunia, dearie." the gootraxian answered.
Chain started to look worried, like he already knew the plangen(plantix+protogen fusion name?).
"Oh, Chain... Haven't seen you in a while buddy." Petunia greeted him.
"I shouldn't have tried turn on the power..." the protogen thought and backed away.
"Wow, not even a 'hi', as rude as i remember!" Petunia said in a mocking tone as her visor was displaying a sad face.
"How the hell are you even back!?" The protogen shouted.
"How would i know, i just came back." Petunia shrugged, Bloom stayed quiet also wondering about the raytraxian, after a while of the raytraxians bickering she decided to speak up.
"Do you know what's going on currently...?" She asked.
"No." Petunia simply replied.
"Alright... I'll explain..." Bloom said before starting to explain the whole human situation.
Yuki was eating ab ice-cream sandwich(since humans got rid of ice-cream in cones) once she finished it she decided to walk to the freezers to search for more of them, she froze when she looked down, what she saw was a trial of mint ice-cream with some chocolate chips in it, she stared at the trail for a second before backing away slowly.
"I thought that the other sprinklekits are long gone..." she thought before she realized something making her quickly run to Coffee and Latte who were cleaning up the cafeteria.
"Are you scared of ice-cream or something?" Latte asked half-joking but Yuki didn't answer so she continued to clean up the cafe untill she heard footsteps of a human, they all were about to fight before Coffee has made a realisation.
"Hey... Guys, it sound like there will be only one human coming here so we can try to infect them." Coffee suggested.
"Good idea...!" Yuki responded trying to calm down.
Upon the agreement the three raytraxians went to infect whoever that was.
