"So... What do you want me to do?" Cindy asked, the dark protogen was not sure if the catte would agree to do so but still decided to reveal it.
"I assume you know a certain protogen, he is known as Chain... I need you to get rid of him."
The catte was shocked at the answer, she stared at him for a second, was he being serious? Why would he want her to kill Chain out of everyone?
"What? Why? He's just an edgy protogen! Why would you want him dead?" She managed to say already regretting her choices despite not making them yet.
"I know it's tough, i understand that, but this is what's needed, for the greater good..." He replied to her.
Cindy sighted.
"I... I don't want this deal... i mean, i am very thankful that you saved me but... Isn't killing the wrong thing to do...?" Her answer made his eye twitch despite it being an image on a visor, he suddenly grabbed her and then slammed her to a wall.
"It was an order." He casually replied after that. "And if you don't do as i say... I can easily undo my good deeds... If you know what i mean..."
He knew that this probably wouldn't make her want to listen to him but it's worth a shot, seeing that she was a catte he hoped that she was as dumb as the scientists say cattes are.
"You will come up to him and you will kill him." He continued, staring down at her.
"Is it a deal?" He finished as he reached out a paw as if he wanted her to shake it.
Cindy's gaze was shifting from his visor to his reached out paw eventually shaking it.
"Deal..." She mumbled.
"Great... I'm expecting you get the job done soon... I'll know." He responded before kicking her out of the room which as it turned out was one of the sectors, Cindy wouldn't know, she never went there due to the infestation of protogens there.
The catte sighed as she got up, she could just pretend that she did it but she was afraid that the dark protogen wasn't just treathening and would actually know, she sighed again, thinking she had no choice in the matter, guess it was time to kill the protogen.
Chain went about his day, hiding from humans and bullying Glowz and Bloom, just as usual, but yet he felt strange, partly due to the return of Petunia and partly because he was afraid that another old friend of his also would make a comeback, and his intuition would be proven to be right, he doesn't know that yet, but he'll know very soon.
Right when he least expected it a knife flew past him, narrowly missing him, Chain knew that someone tried to kill him, expecting a human he turned around, he was met with someone he didn't expect to see, a catte which was unknown to him, this alone caught him off guard.
"What the hell was that for!?" He shouted trying to appear unbothered but of course failing.
The catte didn't respond staring at the ground before she pounced at him pinning him to the ground.
The protogen tried to push her away but before he could she stabbed the knife into him, he didn't yell to not show any weaknesses and to not alert anyone, instead he took out the knife before stabbing the catte with it.
She cried out in pain, Chain managed to push her away and then slammed her to into a wall.
Cindy carefully removed the knife wincing at the sharp blade allowing a waterfall of gooey blood flowing out of her wound but she didn't care about that, she had a job to do.
She tried to focus guilt overwhelming her, she saw the protogen just standing there waiting for her next move.
She stayed there for a few more seconds making Chain unpaintient and eventually attack himself as he ran to slash her with his claws. Cindy saw it as a chance as she took the knife and as he got close she stabbed him with it right in his visor.
Glass shattered and electricity sparkled all across his body, the catte backed away.
Chain either tried to say something or simply scream but all that could be heard was a ear-peircing desperate glitching sounds which slowly died out as he fell to the floor. Cindy covered her ears as she sobbed softly as she backed away further.
She tried to tell herself that no one will know but it wasn't making her feel better, quite the opposite, it only made her feel like she was even worse than she is.
She knew that someone would feel his last noises as one could say and went to the elevators to hide so no one would suspect her.
It felt like it has been hours how much time truly passed? No one knows... The dark protogen entered the room, his figure as shadowy and blurry as if he was never there but here he was, Cindy saw him clearly enough back there for her to believe he exists, she remembered him and that was enough of a proof for her.
The dark protogen walked up to the now dead protogen, he looked down at the body which was still flinching from electricity a small smile appearing on his visor.
"At last..." He muttered to himself clearly proud but not of the one he tasked to murder the protogen but of himself.
"She really did this, how easy to convince souls as gullible as her..." He continued, his voice barely above a whisper.
Cindy was still hiding in the elevator room, his voice somehow still reaching her ears but she was too busy self-pitying to care about it, she knew it was all for the gain of this protogen but she was too scared or confused to think of that at the time but there's no going back, there's blood on her paws and it will never wash off, no matter what at the end of the day she's still a murderer.
All of her thought were interrupted by the sound of someone entering the room, she couldn't see who it was, she could only rely on the sounds.
"Azrael?" The voice of the newcomer began.
"It indeed is me." The dark protogen answered.
"What are you doing here?" The voice sounded shaky as if she just noticed the body.
"Do not worry, it wasn't me who killed him, at least he is no longer an issue..." Azrael replied as casually and carelessly as always.
"You're sick..." The other raytraxian mumbled.
"I'm telling the truth, Petunia, if there is something you should know then it is that i don't tell lies." He responded to her as if it was supposed to make him look better.
What happened next was only a blur of voices each trying to sound louder and more confident, all of it making the catte feel dizzy, she just wanted to go from here, to find her brother and tell him that she's alright but of course this simple dream felt too far away to reach as she just prayed that no one enters here and instead both of them leave.
It felt like an eternity later the voices were becoming more distant as from what she could pick up was Petunia leaving and Azrael calling after her. She waited for a few moments before she made her way to the exit of the area each door loudly opening before her, she made sure no one was nearby and ran, she didn't know what will happen next and how she'll explain it all to Daniel and Liam but she'll figure it out, now she only needs to find them... Seems easy enough, finally she can go 'home'...
