Y/N POV:

I sat in my seat, stretching my arm as an itch spread across my skin. My mind was troubled, preoccupied with recent events. I rubbed my teary eyes and took a sip from my flask, watching the sunlight seep through the window.

Glancing out, I saw an upcoming billboard that read, "King Dino's Prehistoric Playland." I shook my head at the astonishingly fake advertisement, convinced of the sinister intentions behind it, just like everything else in the world.

Ben was nervously tapping the wheel, sighing heavily. I could tell he was struggling to sleep, his antics keeping him awake. His loud exhales were pushing Darius to his breaking point.

Darius leaned forward, eyes wide. "Something on your mind?" he asked.

"What?" Ben looked confused. "Oh, no, no, no. Nah, I'm good."

Darius narrowed his eyes. "Well, obviously there's something. Otherwise, you wouldn't be doing this." He mimicked Ben's grip on the wheel, his sighs, and his tapping. "Tap, tap, tap. I'm Ben, and I'm worried."

Ben chuckled and scoffed. "I wasn't, I wasn't doing that." Then he followed Darius's line of sight and saw that he was indeed tapping the wheel. Covering his hand, he said, "Well, whatever. I don't want to talk about it. It's really nothing."

"Okay, but can you keep it down?" Darius asked, leaning back in his seat with his hands behind his head. "I haven't slept in I don't know how long, and I'm beat." He closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep.

Ben's breathing grew more erratic, and the tapping increased in speed until it was rapid. Finally, Ben broke the silence. "Okay, it's Bumpy. I can't stop thinking about her."

I snapped my fingers. "There it is," I said, knowing it had to be about Bumpy.

"I mean, she did pretty good with those Atrociraptors. She can handle herself, right?" Ben looked at us for reassurance.

"She totally can," I said, folding my arms. "She's faced much worse."

Ben's breathing steadied. "You know what, you're right. She's a strong, independent... woman."

Darius raised an eyebrow. "Strange thing to say, but okay, yeah," he said, supporting Ben's view.

"If anyone should be afraid, it's us," Ben joked, smiling.

Darius chuckled. "Right?" he said, then looked away. "Right...."

I took another sip from my flask. "Not really, I'm not afraid to die. I just float through life."

"Those raptors..." Darius paused slightly. "If they're the same ones from my cabin, they'd have to track us over 1,500 miles and still gotten to Texas not long after we did."

"Almost makes you feel like we're being hunted, doesn't it?" Ben asked rhetorically, staring directly at Darius.

"Yeah, dude, I already told you I believe you," Darius retorted, waving his hands.

"I know, but it's just like, I finally have people on the same page as me," Ben said, content.

I shrugged. "Does this mean I get discounts for being on the page longer than Darius?" I teased, taking another sip from my flask.

"You don't know how long I've waited for this..." Ben's face contorted into a smile. "It's like... like... like..." He hit the wheel, tooting the horn. "Whooo!" he shouted.

"Take it down a notch. We are still being hunted," Darius said, a bit paranoid.

"Fuck that," I quipped, tooting the horn and laughing. "Whooo!" I screamed, chuckling to myself.
