The day of the battle drew near and Izuku listened in on the conversations buzzing around him. As expected Nezu had managed to track down the doctor's location and the heroes were now holding conference after conference strategizing out the logistics behind their attack.
Aizawa who was always watching over Izuku and Eri no matter the time of the day started to pick up on Izuku's habits such as his lack of eating or sleeping or the way he would always sit between Aizawa and Eri. There was always that sense of distrust in Izuku and no matter what Aizawa did it never went away.
Plus whenever Izuku looked at his classmates directly in the eyes they always seem to avert their gaze awkwardly. Even the teacher who he'd gotten so comfortable with, occasionally looked away. And when Aizawa wasn't averting his gaze, his eyes seemed to dart from side to side nervously never looking Izuku in the face.
But anways, Aizawa always felt a pain of saddness for what the poor boy had to go through.
"Nezu?" Aizawa asked the principal one day when he switched with his husband so that he could take a break.
"Yes Aizawa?" Nezu says looking up from his stacks and stacks of paper.
"On the day of the attack what are we going to do about Ao- Izuku?" Aizawa says correcting his error quickly.
"Hmm." Nezu says, "We can't spare to leave anyone behind especially when we're dealing with such a dangerous villain... But we can't let him go with us exactly."
"That." Aizawa says clearing his throat, "That's what I wanted to talk to you about."
"You want to bring Izuku to the battle?" Nezu says his eyes widdening, "We don't even know the full extent of his quirks. That's the one thing he refuses to explain to us."
"I know we can't exactly trust him fully," Aizawa says desperately, "But I think it'll be good for him if he's there when we defeat Shigaraki and All For One especially the Doctor too. It'll be like allowing him to fight and defeat his own villains in his mind. It might even be a little healing for him."
Nezu's silent for a long moment, "I'll think about it. I can't risk the safety of the students and the heroes. What if he turns on us?"
"If he wanted to turn on us he would've done so a long time."
"How do you know?" Nezu counters, "He could've only been using us to save Eri-chan."
Aizawa pauses. "I just think it'll be good for him to be there."
Nezu nods, "I'll think about it."
With that Aizawa returned to his house to sleep for the first time in a 3 days. He couldn't exactly sleep when Izuku would be awake all night who knew what would happen if he fell asleep while the boy was still awake.
~~~~~Day Of The Battle~~~~~~
Nezu's forehead creased as he dealt with the last problem that laid before him on paper. What to do with Izuku? He'd been contemplating the idea of bringing the boy with the heroes all week and now that it was the day of the battle he had to make his mind up.
"Alright." He says finally grabbing his walkie talkie and lifting it to his mouth with a furry paw, "Tell Aizawa Izuku is clear to go."
Present Mic voice starts to screech loudly on the other side and Nezu hurriedly cuts the connection before he informs all the other participants of the battle.
Present Mic hurried over to Izuku's room in the Class 1A dorm and he burst through to see a wholesome sight. Eri was sleeping on the bed and Izuku had curled his body around her and Aizawa had also flopped down closer to the girl and was staring at Izuku as he stared at Eri.
