It had been a couple of days after the training camp, and Kuroo hadn't talked much with Rin. Not that he liked her absence at all he was simply busy preparing for his next match with the boys, and... figuring out how to confess. That, after all, was also stressing and frustrating in a way.

Bokuto, Akaashi, and Kenma encouraged him to do so, and even managed to make Rin agree to make a group chat with the five of them. It was about time that he did anyway, given that they had been friends for years and he had liked her just a few months lesser than the years he had known her.

In a way, the three became Kuroo's wingmen. Bokuto wanted to know what kind of girl Kuroo liked aside from the fact that she had long hair (Kuroo mentioned before that he liked girls with long hair). Akaashi was simply curious and couldn't really stand Kuroo's dismissal of his own feelings no matter how it was already very much obvious. Kenma, on the other hand, was tired of seeing them secretly steal glances on each other and hiding the very apparent attraction.

How were they going to tell Rin that they wanted to be in a group chat with each other for the reason that they wanted to push Kuroo to confess? In Bokuto's words, he wanted to make friends with Kuroo's close friend so an extra person could cheer for them when Fukurodani's playing and Nekoma isn't. They simply went with that alibi.

Bokuto
GODDd i still can't forget
Rin's cooking... Kuroo let
me have a taste when you
brought some during the
training camp, it was so
good that i couldn't
forget it. now i know why
Kuroo likes grilled salted
mackerel pike.

Akaashi
It was delicious. I had a
chance to have a taste too

Kenma
Rin literally made me
her taste tester. I get to
taste her recipes before
they even reach your mouths

Kuroo
That's unfair??? How come
I didn't know that

Kenma
It's our bonding. She plays
with me and I help her with
feedbacks on her cooking.
An equivalent exchange.

Rin
Damn right. And Kenma gives
the best feedback. He is my
child at this point.

Kenma
Please don't say that. I wouldn't
want Kuroo to be my father.

Rin
Why is he the father, we are not
married. Not even engaged nor
dating...

Kuroo
I am wounded

Kuroo
Do you not even see me as a
potential husband??? Just so
you know, your mom wants
us to end up marrying each
other if we don't find anyone
else

Rin
Idk, ask your crush about that
not me

Rin
My mom says that a lot
but your father thinks I
bring out the best in you
and that you'll be a lucky
guy if we ended up together
so I think I won :P

Bokuto
Why does he have to ask
his crush... he likes you
Even your parents approve
of it. You're practically
married in their minds
already at this point.

Akaashi
Bokuto, you are a great friend

Rin
?

Kuroo
Don't mind Bokuto

Kuroo wanted to sink to the depths of the earth after what Bokuto said. He didn't know how to not make it awkward, but at the same time, he didn't mind much. If subtle hints like that were given, perhaps Rin could get a clue. God does he want her to get a clue.

It just stung a bit whenever her replies were mere question marks or complete avoidance of the topic. He didn't know how to go along with it in a way that Rin wouldn't find overwhelming. Did Bokuto's message startle her? He wondered.

Whenever Yaku and the rest told him that he had a very large chance of success if he plans on confessing, he just couldn't believe it. Rin was both in arms' length and untouchable at the same time, and he couldn't figure out how to get his way around that. Which was why he accepted the help of his other friends.

Just as he rolled onto the other side of his bed, he figured he had to ask for some advice. Was it a good choice to call Bokuto, when that very same guy was the one who dropped the world's largest hint to Rin but she still couldn't get it?

"What's up?" Bokuto asked, chuckling on the other side of the line.

"Do you think Rin got it? What you meant earlier?" He questioned, swearing that he heard Bokuto whisper to Akaashi who was obviously with him at the moment.

"She probably has a clue right now, but what she needs is a direct statement from you," Bokuto replied, earning a hum of approval from the messy haired male.

"I'm just afraid. I'm scared I'll mess things up. What if I get rejected and she distances herself from me? What if I was just assuming that she reacts positively on my advances and I'm just making a fool out of myself?" Kuroo asked, "I wouldn't want that."

"Before you dive into your fears, believe in your strengths first. You're Kuroo Tetsuro. A lot of people admire you. She is proud of you. She doesn't think you're a bad choice. I'm sure it will work out somehow. If it doesn't, then at least you tried. Take the chance or you might lose it completely. That's like hesitating to block a ball that's so easy to block. You're just confusing her if you keep dropping hints and giving no direct ones at all. She might end up distancing herself more if you keep doing that."

That was the wisest advice he ever heard from his friend from Fukurodani. Surely, Bokuto seemed like the type to face everything head on and be affected a lot by his emotions, but that was his strength too. Kuroo had everything but the guts to confess. And what Bokuto was full of was guts— he simply had to push Kuroo out of his zone. He had to make him realize that if he wasn't going to make a move, he might even lose his current position with how much he was hesitating. People come and go, and Kuroo needed to swipe in before Rin could even think of going away.

"Thank you, I'll call you later."

He ended the call and stood up from his position, quickly stepping out of his room and then rushing out of his house. Rin lived a few houses away and he simply had to take advantage of the rush of courage he was feeling before it went away. If he couldn't do it today, he didn't trust himself enough that he could do it again in another day.

Before he knew it, he was already in front of Rin's door, ringing the doorbell. Ding, dong, there it goes— and the door swung open to reveal a very confused Kimura Rin.

Her long black hair was a bit messy, she probably hurried to answer the door. Her gray eyes were filled with confusion as she searched for answers in Kuroo's hazel ones. She simply wore a plain white shirt and denim shorts, obviously wore it hurriedly to make herself look presentable for whoever planned on visiting out of the blue.

They stared at each other for three whole seconds before Kuroo broke the silence.

"I ran all the way here because I wanted to ask you something," he started, "what's your ideal date?"

Confused, Rin blinked rapidly. "Doing groceries and then cooking dishes together. Why? Tetsu, you're being so random-"

"Will you go grocery shopping with me?"

"As long as you'll push the cart for me."
