From what the Order could tell, Jesse hadn't left her bedroom in days. Axel and Olivia were concerned and confused, having no idea what happened. Lukas didn't really know anything either, but he didn't figure it out from the few minutes he was in the room where it happened.

Petra was the only one that knew. She was kinda irritated that Jesse still hadn't come out to talk to them. Keeping her mouth shut wasn't helping her at all.

Little did they know...they were somewhat wrong.

Jesse seemed to have never left the small room- but really she had. She would sneak into town by leaving the Hall through her window. Of course, the others never saw her, cause she would linger in the shadows, out of their sight.

Everyone except Petra had tried several attempts for their leader to emerge, and Jesse wouldn't say a word to them. She just left them there, begging until they realized she needed the space. If she had told them to go away, they wouldn't listen, it would only think they shouldn't give up on her.

It seemed mean, but it was the only way to make them understand she wasn't in the mood for lectures. Not after Petra had refused to talk to her until she'd spill what was really going on.

So, Jesse mostly spent her time on her bed, blankly staring at the wall, waiting for something to happen. Though nothing ever did. Other than that, she'd sleep to pass the time. It seemed like the only thing she could do if she wasn't thinking or running to town for food. It was quite boring, until one particular night.

Lukas sighed, knowing this was gonna end the same way it always had lately. Everyone else had gone off to bed, and he knew Jesse was awake. Sounds were coming from her room, and they didn't know when she was sleeping unless it was completely quiet. So, here Lukas was, attempting to get a response when he knocked on her door. "Jesse? It's just me."

"Lukas?" He heard her say on the other side of the door. The first response they got in days. Too bad the others weren't here to see it.

"Can I come in?" He asked nervously, his breath caught in his throat.

"Not stopping you." She replied.

Lukas sighed again, opening the door. She was sitting in the middle of the bed, her legs crossed. The blonde hesitantly took a seat beside her on the edge.

"Please don't ask," She whispered, her voice tone full of desperation.

"Jesse, I can tell you're not doing ok."

"When am I ever doing ok nowadays?" She wondered, a single tear running down her face.

He softened more, wrapping his arm around her, pulling the small girl close to him. She didn't hesitate, wrapping her arms around his neck for comfort. She just couldn't keep it inside anymore. Sobs racked her body, escaping her lips as Lukas held her tightly.

"Hey, it's gonna be alright." He assured her.

Jesse's voice wavered. "How can you be so sure?"

"Because I know you're a strong girl. You've never let anything or anyone best you. Don't give up now." He explained.

She just shook her head. "No matter how hard I try, it's never gonna go away."

"And what's that?"

She was too upset to answer, the sobs overtaking her once more. Lukas shushed her, rubbing her back in a comforting way. "I can't do this anymore. I-I just can't."

There was silence after that. Jesse didn't know how long he was there holding her, but it was long enough that she dozed off.

Lukas had just gently laid her down on the bed, wrapping a fuzzy blanket around her. He even fluffed one of her pillows, slowly placing it back under her head. Tears stained her cheeks, and it made Lukas's heartbreak. She had gone through so much, and now she was dealing with an immense amount of pain again. He wished he knew what so he could help her, but alas, Jesse was too choked up to speak about it.

He stood up, turning off the light switch. The light was from the doorway, shining directly on the bed. Lukas grabbed the doorknob, closing the door behind him.

Surprisingly Petra was at the kitchen island, watching him. "Someone's in love."

"Am not. Jesse and I are just really good friends." He said defensively.

"She did not let you in because you're 'really good friends.'" Petra scoffed, mocking him.

"Don't pretend you know everything," Lukas muttered.

Petra jumped off the stool she was sitting on. "I'm her closest friend. You...you're more than a close friend to Jesse."

"Says who?" Lukas groaned.

"Everybody," Petra smirked, "you know I'm right."

Lukas didn't even want to talk to her anymore, clearly annoyed that Petra doesn't understand a thing between relationships and friendships. He walked into his room, slamming the door.

Petra rolled her eyes. "Just wait. Soon he'll see I'm right."

Petra suddenly stopped. She heard sounds from Jesse's room. Like pleas for help. Right now, she didn't care about what she last said to Jesse. That didn't mean she wasn't gonna leave her suffering.

She opened the door to find out it wasn't Jesse crying out for help. It was the two shadowy figures trying to escape with her out the window. They hadn't had their hands on her yet, but they were about to. Quickly, Petra pulled out her sword, throwing it, and barely missing the figure next to the bed.

Their heads turned in her direction as she flicked the light switch on. Her words were stern and clear. "Do me a favor and don't lay a finger on her."

"Petra, this isn't what it looks like." The one by the bed said. They sounded familiar, but she couldn't exactly remember who it was.

She expected them to just attempt to take her again with her watching. She expected them to fight back. Instead they motioned to each other, fleeing through the window, leaving Jesse behind. That was easier than she expected.

She went over to the window, tightly latching it closed. As she did though, Jesse bolted upright with a scream. She looked over to where the redhead was, and confusion was expressed on her face. "Petra?"

Petra didn't answer walking over to the other window in the room, checking the latch. "What are you doing here?"

"Jesse..." She finally spoke, worry seen in her eyes.

The raven haired girl was even more confused, worry starting to show in her eyes as well.

"You almost got kidnapped."
