Khalid's POV

"Assalamualaikum, how are you, miss?" I greeted the secretary, trying not to vent my anger on her.

"Waalaikumsalam, what brings you here, Mr?" she responded.

"How are you? I'm here to see Mr. Deen," I said with a straight face.

"Hold on a sec." She picked up the phone to call him. "Name, please?" she asked, ready to inform her boss.

"Just tell him it's 'bro,'" I coughed.

A few moments passed.

"Okay sir," she said, ending the call. "You can use the lift. His office is on the third floor."

"Thank you, miss. Assalamualaikum," I replied and walked away.

Zahra's POV

"We'll probably talk about it tomorrow," I said, focused on my laptop. I've been so busy with college applications lately. Getting into my dream school has been tough and stressful.

"Probably?" Jamila blinked at me, clearly annoyed.

"I mean, we can talk now if you want. I've got all the time in the world," she said, standing from her seat. "But hey, it's your choice. I'm upstairs if you need me." She grabbed my Pringles and headed up.

Yasir's POV

The secretary just called someone wants to see me? At this hour? Either it's serious, or the person doesn't know how packed my schedule is.

"The coffee is here, sir," my assistant said, placing it on my desk.

"Thanks," I nodded.

Knock knock. Someone started knocking urgently.

"Come in, please," I said.

And there he was.

"Who do we have here? Assalamualaikum, akhi," I said, standing up to greet Khalid. But he ignored my gesture, replying only to the salam. Something was off.

"Have a seat," I offered. He sat, and I returned to my chair.

"What brings you here?"

"This is how you looked at Zahra, isn't it?" he asked, his brown eyes filled with fury.

I blinked confused.

"I came here to show you how horrible, pathetic, and low you've become."

"If this is about Zahra, you can leave. I have a lot of work to do," I said calmly.

"We're settling this today, by hook or by crook!" he shouted.

I ignored him and continued working. I knew what he wanted I wasn't giving it to him.

"Yasir! I'm talking to you!" He slammed the table, knocking over the coffee and ruining my documents.

"You cheater! Lying about your mom to protect yourself," he barked.

I pointed toward the door. "You may leave."

I was struggling to fight my nafs, but I could feel myself slipping.

"My best friend's love? Nasty. Nasty!" he hissed, then spit into my coffee and grabbed my collar.

I wrestled out of his grip, dialed security, and said, "Come get him before I do something I'll regret."

"Security? Really? How unmanly," he laughed.

"GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!" I shouted.

He shoved me onto my desk. The coffee pot fell, and the hot liquid scalded my hand. That was it.
