Kent POV

Checking the time over and over again, I can not fucking believe that Roger stood me up.

I have been sitting here for two hours now and still there's no sign of him.

Dialing his number over twenty time and still no fucking answer from him.

This must be on purpose.

Deciding not to sit and wait for him anymore, I exit the restaurant.

Entering my car, with no hope in the world I still have to figure out what needs to be done with this issue.

Leaning my head on the steering wheel was like accepting defeat.

The buzzing of my phone alerts me to fetch it from my pocket.

Looking at the caller ID, I saw it was Roger calling.

With a deep breath I answer the phone.

Hello’.

Keith, where are you man, I am at your office waiting for you’. Is this a joke for you, don't you need my help’..

Words could not be formed, shock was an understatement.

I have been waiting for Roger's for two damn hours at a restaurant that is very well known in Manhattan.

I tried calling him, no answer, and now he's telling me this.

Just listening to Roger speak was like poison. Years ago, I knew I pranked him. But this was completely different.

‘Hello, are you still there, what the actual fuck’, you know what, when you need my help you call me up. Got to go’.

The line went dead, I was lost for words, I could not process what just happened.

Still having the phone pressed to my ear, I was hoping this was just an illusion and Roger was just about to talk to me.

But knowing the reality of life, this is not the case.

Fuck, five god damn years and Roger still remember that prank I did on him.

I was so upset, I took the phone and hit it multiple times on the steering wheel. My hand was now hurting from the impact.

There is no hope for me, what should I tell Keith now. Taking a deep breath, I decided to head back to the office.

Sitting in my office chair deep in thoughts, deciding how to break the news to Keith, what should I tell Keith.

Five Damn years I have not seen or heard from Rogers, and three long years I have taken it upon myself to run Lopez enterprise, the number one oil company in Manhattan New York.

Dad, I don't think Kent is ready to take on such a big project, he just left college Luke two years ago, I don't think he's ready’ said Keith.

Twenty five year old Kent was in his father's offices with Keith, discussing who should take up the project in New York Manhattan. That is a multimillionaire corporation that the Lopez enterprise is running.

Our late father was the founder of that said oil mining corporation, now our uncle who we call dad, decided to make one of us run that said corporation.

Keith, I think your brother is ready. Said dad’

I was proud that dad had some trust in me, I could not let him down.
