Robby sighed, taking off his sunglasses and sitting up on the lounger. Tory opened her eyes, glancing over at him as he scanned the water park looking for a certain Hispanic brunette. "Come on. We're all due for a day off," Tory had argued. "Plus, Alora will be there." That's all she had to say for him to agree. Yet, they were here and she still wasn't.
"I thought you said she was coming," Robby looked over to Tory with a bored gaze.
"She is coming, just hold on," Tory chuckled.
She was the only person who actually wanted him around as he wasn't in Cobra Kai anymore and the Miyagi-Fang's weren't exactly very accepting of him. He had talked to Finlay once or twice since the All-Valley but it was all about Alora. Tory was his only real friend at the moment. His breakup with Alora was hitting way harder than he thought it would. He missed the mischievous twinkle in her eyes she got when she was up to something. He missed the grin that was always on her face and the softness of her skin. He missed her.
Tory's gaze softened, "You know, she's been different since you left." That caught his attention.
"Different how?" he asked, his attention now on her.
Tory shrugged, "She's gotten more...intense, I guess. She jokes around less, stays pretty much to herself during practice, always the first one there and the last one gone."
Robby's gaze grew more serious as she talked. His heart clenched at Tory's description of her. That didn't sound like his Alora at all.
"But I mean, she seems fine other than that. It's not like we were ever that close, I'm pretty sure she still hates my guts," Tory confessed.
Robby snorted at that. "She doesn't hate you. She just doesn't know you. I think you two would actually really like each other if you did."
"Maybe," she agreed. She pointed at the entrance of the water park. "Speaking of." Alora walked in with Finlay and another boy who Robby wasn't familiar with.
She was wearing a red and black bikini, holding a white bag, and nursing a metal water bottle in her hand. Her dark brown hair that used to be mid back now stopped around the top of her shoulders. If he looked hard enough, he could see a small patch of dark green that framed her face; it was dark enough that he almost missed it. She, Finlay, and the other boy walked over to some loungers near the other Cobra Kai's but kept a little distance between them. Just the sight of her made his heart skip a beat.
"Who is that?" Robby asked Tory, pointing to the boy sitting with Alora and Finlay.
Tory squinted to get a better look then sat back. "That's Will. He works the juice bar in the new dojo sometimes. I think he and Finlay have something going on." Just as she said that, the boy, Will, pecked Finlay on the cheek and began to walk over to the concessions stand.
Robby nodded, his gaze never leaving Alora. She smiled at something Finlay said but it didn't quite reach her eyes. He said something else and she looked over to where Robby was sitting with Tory as if just realizing they were there. Their eyes met and everyone else fell to the background for that small moment. Both of them stopped breathing momentarily, green eyes locked onto hazel. Then, she sucked in a breath and turned away.
"I'm too sober for this," Alora mumbled, running a hand over her face, grabbing her water bottle, and taking a deep drink from it. She didn't want to see him right now. He was so close yet still so far and it made her wanna drown herself in the pool a few feet away.
Finlay gave her a hard look, snatching the bottle from her and opening it, he put his nose close to the top and then yanked it away with a cough. "Alora!" She rolled her eyes and took it back from him.
