Toadette's New Taste Tester

Summary: Toadette has some new upcoming sweets and needs a taste tester for them before she decides to sell them.

A/N: This is my very first chubby oneshot fanfic. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Toadette sighed in relief as the lunch rush at her new bakery was finally over. She decided to take some time by cleaning the counter up front before any more customers arrived. She quickly turned on a nearby radio and hummed along to the sweet melody playing.

Eventually, she finished and then heard the bell at the door start chiming. She knew that it was a customer, so she quickly fixed her apron, turned around, and announced happily, "Welcome to Toadette's Baking Wonderland! How may I help you?"

She was surprised to see that it was Luigi. He was wearing his casual comfy clothes and had a smile on his face. He greeted Toadette and noticed that there was a poster behind her that was advertising some new upcoming cakes. Luigi looks at her and asks, "That's a pretty nice poster. What are the new cake flavors going to be?"

Toadette got excited since he was the first person to ever ask about it. She then told him that's she's been wanting to let other customers know about it for a while, but none of them would bother to ask. Luigi started to feel bad but said that he'd be willing to try them whenever they're officially ready to be bought.

"Actually," Toadette started to explain, "I was wondering if you would like to be a taste tester. You don't have to do it if you don't want to."

Luigi thought about it for a moment, looked at her, and beamed, "Of course! I can't wait to try them!"

She then led him to the kitchen area of the bakery. He sat down in one of the chairs as Toadette brought over four large cakes. The flavors of them were hazelnut mocha, blueberry and lemon, key lime and coconut, and apple and cardamom. Luigi was shocked to see the huge cakes, but he started to blush when his stomach started to growl. Toadette started to giggle and say, "I bet you're ready to try these."

Luigi giggled nervously and responded with, "I am. I had a bit of a light lunch."

What Toadette didn't know about Luigi was that he had a really bad sweet tooth. Everyone else knew about it, but no one mentioned it to her. The sound of the bell chiming caught her attention, and she quickly let Luigi know that she'll be right back. Luigi understood, and he started to eat the cakes.

After about an hour later, Toadette wiped some sweat off her forehead. She was glad that mini rush was over and went back to the kitchen area to check on Luigi. What she saw next took her by surprise. All four of the cakes were already eaten with a few crumbs on the trays. Luigi's usually small pot belly now looked like it was the size of a beach ball that wasn't hidden very well under his baggy green hoodie. He had some frosting that was on his face, and he had two squishy chubby cheeks. He had his hands on his stomach and was rubbing his hands in small circles since he was pretty full.

Toadette giggled a little and then asked, "So, what do you think? Did you like them?"

Luigi looked at her and replied, "They're so good! I bet everyone in the whole Mushroom Kingdom will love these."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah! And uh, I'm sorry. I should've told you about my horrible sweet tooth."

"No, no, it's okay. Um... do you need a ride home?"

Luigi slowly got up and nodded. He pushed in his chair, grabbed a napkin to wipe his face clean, and mentioned that he walked here instead of driving on his motorcycle. He asked Toadette if it was okay if she could call Mario to pick him up. She didn't mind at all as Luigi gave her his brother's number and she started to call him.

Eventually, Mario drove up to the bakery and got out of his car. He entered the bakery and greeted Toadette, and saw Luigi with a sheepish smile on his face. Toadette mentioned to them that the cakes Luigi taste tested are on the house. They both thanked her, and she told them to have a good day as they left.

When they got back home, Luigi immediately went upstairs to his room. He started to get tired and knew he was about to slip into a food coma. As soon as he laid down, he felt some pressure on him, and it was Lillie. She looked tired, but it was only because she had a long day at school. She started to poke his round belly, which he had to tell her to stop, and she listened. She then asked him where he was.

Luigi yawned and replied, "I was at Toadette's bakery, and she left me to try some cakes that she plans on selling soon. I ended up eating all four of them. But you all know me and how I need to control my sweet tooth. And probably cut back on sweets for a while."

Lillie giggled and yawned as well. She decided to ask her father if they could take a nap. Luigi agreed and saw that Lillie started to lay her head on his belly and fell asleep. Luigi's food coma kicked in with full force, and he fell asleep as well.
