Jaago is a lively and colorful tradition in Punjabi weddings where friends and family members dance and sing while carrying a decorated pot called "jaago."
It symbolizes the announcement of the upcoming wedding and is accompanied by traditional Punjabi folk music, dhol beats, and energetic dance moves.
The jaago is typically adorned with bright colors, mirrors, and sometimes even lights, adding to the festive atmosphere of the celebration.
During the jaago night , the groom's maternal family, often called the "jaago walas," arrive to celebrate and participate in various rituals.
Viren's maternal family arrives in a procession carrying the jaago, a decorated pot filled with water, adorned with bright colors, mirrors, and even lights.
As they enter the wedding venue, the jaago walas sing and dance to traditional Punjabi folk songs and dhol beats, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
Then The jaago is raised high to announce the upcoming wedding, symbolizing the joyous occasion and inviting others to join in the celebration.
Two ladies ,karan's mom and his mami raised the jaago pot on their heads and all the group went to neighbourhood for making them the part of their celebration.
They were singing traditional songs and boliyaan . Karan and viren's cousin sisters held the round stick which is also called as chajj decorated with small bells ,so when they walked ,it also made voice of ringing bells and the whole environment was filled with that sound.
They were going house to house while placing the jaago on their heads one by one and others were dancing on the beats of dhol and boliyaan.
" Gwaandiyo jaagde ke sutte ,Gwaandiyo jaagde ke sutte." One person sang the line and others repeated this line behind for three to four time. (Are the pots awake or sleep?)
At that time karan raised the boli "Oh baari barsi khatan Gaya c khatt ke leyaanda....." He stopped the boli in mid and others asks him with teasing and in funny way . ("In the twelfth month, he (the groom) was pulled out with a screech."
"Oh ki khat ke leyaanda ?" Everybody sang the line in unison .
"Oh khat ke leyaanda khunda, oh Bhangra taan sajda je nache viah vaala Munda." He sang lines and everyone else joined also.
(He took out his stick with a screech, and if the groom dances the Bhangra, he's quite a sight.")
And in meantime viren went in between and everyone made a circle around him and they all danced on the beats of dhol.
After that,karan and viren's mama (uncle) raised the boli.
"Oh baari barsi khatan Gaya c khatt ke leyaanda...." And with the same process he stopped in middle and let other complete it
" Oh ki khat ke leyaanda?"
"Oh khatt ke leyaandi vaari,oh Bhangra taan sajda je nache munde de pra te bharjaayi" (They pulled out the stick with a screech, and if the groom's brother and sister in law dances the Bhangra, they fills the space."
Everyone sang the same lines in unison and karan and mehar went inbetween the circle aamd danced on the beats of the dhol.
Like this ,the whole evening of jaago night spent.They danced,laughed,sang .They all have beautiful smiles plastered on their face which were enlightening their happiness for the occasion.
At night the dj arranged for the younger clans of the family.And tomorrow was the day of which everyone waited for and was so excited for.
They all slept in the midnight after some chatting and doing preparations for the big day .

I did a lot of search on this functions although I knew it but still I didn't want to do any mistake .so here it is.
