Chapter Three
Lauren's Point of View:
"Lauren come on! It'll be fun!" Nicole practically screamed in my ear.
"No," I mumbled, covering my ears.
My insane best friend was trying to get me to go to another frat party tonight, but I really wasn't feeling it. After starting my period early this morning, I wasn't really in the mood to do anything.
"Why do you want me to go so badly, anyways?" I asked.
"No reason, I just think we need to let loose before classes start in two days," she grinned.
"I already let loose at the other party." I pointed out.
"Lauren!"
"Nicole!" I laughed.
"Is there anyway I can get you to say yes?" she whined.
"Nope," I shrugged.
"Damn it Lauren. Fine," she groaned.
"Have fun!" I called as she was walking out the door.
"Thanks," she mumbled, shutting the door to our dorm rather harshly.
What was her deal? Why did she want me to go so badly? Shrugging off the thoughts, I shoved my face into my pillow and quickly fell asleep.

Journal Entry #2
I still don't understand why mom wants me to keep this journal. But I will do it, because who knows. Maybe in a few years I'll look back at it and think about all my great memories from college. But anyways, today is my first day of classes! I'm really excited. Nicole is currently making breakfast, because we finally went out and got some groceries for our dorm. She was always pretty good at cooking, while I on the other hand, wasn't. My parents never trusted me around the stove, because of the many countless times I've almost started a fire. Yikes. Oooh, foods done!
Putting my journal under my mattress, I joined Nicole in the kitchen. The smell of eggs lingered in my nose, as my hunger started to rise.
"So, how's your period? You know, the one that kept you from not going to the frat party?" she asked, giving me an annoyed look.
I rolled my eyes. "Why are you so bummed that I missed one party? There's gonna be so many more,"
"It's just that this one, was important." Nicole shrugged.
"How?" I asked, curiosity taking over.
"I dunno. Just was,"
"Okay.." I said, giving her a confused look.
We ate for the first few minutes in silence, until Nicole blurted something out.
"Michael was there," she groaned, not making eye contact. "That's why I wanted you to go so bad. Luke told him about how you were back, and he wanted to see you."
My eyes went wide, and I swear I'm that moment I lost my appetite. I couldn't even eat, I felt sick to my stomach.
"Why does he wanna see me?" I asked, letting this new information sink in.
"He wants to make things right, I guess. That's what he told Luke."
I started to feel angry. "It's too late to make things right," I scoffed.
"Lauren, listen. I talked to him at the party. He feels really bad about what he did. Even though it's been two years, he still thinks about it on a daily basis. And didn't you say you were over it? Don't you think you deserve an explanation? I mean come on, the day before you moved, he kept trying to contact you. And you shut him out. Then you left, and didn't speak another word to him again. That really hurt him. Yeah he fucked up, but so did you. You're both in the wrong here." Nicole finished.
