The next day, Pri was sleeping peacefully, enjoying her three days off from college. Her brother came in to wish her good morning and then left for college. She responded only in her sleep. After some time, Pri woke up, brushed her teeth, and tied her hair into a messy bun.

When she came out of her room, she saw her dad watching TV calmly. She furrowed her eyebrows, wondering if she had woken up early, but then she looked at the time and realized her dad was just late. She went over to him, sat beside him, and hugged him.

“Dad, don’t you go to the office today?” she asked, playing with his shirt buttons.

He smiled and replied, “Nah, I don’t have any important meetings, so I thought I’d spend the day with my daughter since she’s also free from college.”

Pri chuckled and said, “Dad, you’re so cute.”

He scrunched his nose and said, “Pari, my bachcha, I’m handsome and dashing. If you want, you can ask your mother.”

He winked at her mother, who had just come out of the kitchen. She widened her eyes with a blush but said, “Haha, very handsome.”

Pri and her dad burst into laughter at her reaction. Even though she was blushing, she admitted that her husband was handsome.

He wrapped his other arm around her mother and kissed her forehead. Pri looked at her parents, admiring their bond. Her dad then looked at her and kissed her forehead, saying, “My two precious and important women in my life.”

They both smiled and hugged him.

Today, Sid came to college sulking. He really didn’t want to come without hus bestie, but Pri had insisted he go since Aaru would be alone at college. Sid and Aaru attended their classes, but they both missed Pri’s presence.

Besides them, there was one more person who missed Priyanka..... it's none other than our Ankit. He missed how she used to talk endlessly during breaks and lunch, her mischievous ideas, and her constant bickering with Sid. They were both incredibly lively and entertaining.

Ankit had never missed anyone like this before, except for his mom. Perhaps it was because Pri often referred to him as “her person,” even though she didn’t mean it romantically. Her words made his heart flutter. Whenever she was close to him, he felt a surge in his heart.

He remembered how she took care of him when he was injured, feeding him as lovingly as a mother would. She stood up for him and defended him like a protective sibling or father would. . He felt like he got a complete family in one person and that was Priyanka.

Time seemed to move very slowly. It felt like an eternity, and he couldn’t imagine how he would manage without her for three whole days.

At lunch, the four of them sat together, but the atmosphere was unusually quiet.

“Such a boring day, such a boring life without my bestie,” Sid sang with a dramatic, sad face.

The three of them chuckled, but they agreed that it was indeed a boring day without Pri’s lively presence. Then Aarohi’s phone rang, and her face lit up when she saw Pri’s video call.

“It’s Pri!” she chirped, accepting the call. Ankit looked at her with excitement.

As Aarohi accepted the call, Pri began with her usual dramatic flair, “Aaru, meri jaan.................” The four of them laughed.

“And what the heck is that dumbass Sid doing with his phone? I’ve called him so many times, and he didn’t answer once!” Pri said.

Sid frowned and checked his phone, noticing many missed calls. His eyes widened in realization.

“Yaar, sorry Pri, I forgot to unmute my phone. Sorry, sorry!” he pleaded cutely.

“Hmm, okay. I’ll decide your punishment later,” Pri said with a smirk.

“What are Bhai and Ankit doing? And have you guys had your lunch?” she asked.

Sid pointed his phone towards Arjun and Ankit. Arjun asked if she had eaten, and Pri mentioned a list of dishes her mom had made, which made him roll hus eyes. But He smiled, thinking how much she loved food but didn’t know how to cook haha. Ankit was silently listening to her suddenly asked....

“How’s your hand, Priyanka?” he asked with concern.

Hearing this, Pri smiled and assured him that she was fine. And moved her hand in air in different wierd positions to show she's fine making all of them laugh. Ankit reminded her to take care of herself and to take her medication on time. Arjun, who was sitting next to Ankit, noticed different emotions in Ankit’s eyes but chose not to comment. Ankit felt happy talking with Pri. Throughout lunch, Pri talked about how she enjoyed her time with her dad and how her mom made special dishes for her.

“Acha, so leaving the one and only good son, you three are having family time. Not fair,” Arjun said with fake annoyance.

“Aww, Bhai, don’t be jealous. I know it hurts to think that Mom and Dad love me more. Sometimes I even think you’re adopted,” she said with mock sympathy. Arjun gasped, and the three of them burst into laughter.

“Pari, bachcha, I’m older than you. I should be saying that to you,” he said in a duh tone. Pri stuck her tongue out at him. That’s how their boring lunch turned into a joyful one.

After 3 days

Pri returned to college with her brother after a three day suspension. Everyone looked at her curiously, as she had become somewhat famous for her little fight. Pri saw Sid, Aarohi, and Ankit. She ran to them and hugged Sid first, then Aarohi, and finally Ankit. Ankit’s heart skipped a beat with her sudden hug, and his breath quickened. Before he could fully return the hug, Pri pulled back with a smile.

“I missed you all, guys,” she said.

“Me too, Pri,” Aarohi said, giving her a side hug.

“But I didn’t miss you, devil,” Sid said, winking. Pri punched him playfully.

Pri looked at Ankit, who was gazing at her, seemingly fulfilling his three day longing to see her. She called his name twice, but he was too lost in admiring her to respond. Pri gently shook him by placing a hand on his shoulder, which broke his trance.

“Where were you lost, Ankit? I’ve been calling you,” she said, frowning.

Ankit rubbed the back of his neck and, with a nervous smile, said nothing.

Pri nodded, and then all of them headed off to their respective classes.
