Next Day

Priyanka woke up late because she had slept late due to yesterday's engagement. She picked up her phone and checked the time, it was 11 AM.

"Hmm, no one woke me up today," Priyanka thought. Then her gaze fell on the rings on her fingers, and a smile adorned her face. Suddenly, she felt the urge to see Ankit.

She quickly climbed down from the bed and got ready, wearing her casual clothes since there were no special rituals today and the haldi was scheduled for tomorrow. She went downstairs and saw her mom, Aarohi, and Sid sitting at the dining table. Her mom and Aarohi were discussing something, while Sid was eating and scrolling through his phone. She went over to them and hugged her mom.

"Good morning, Mom," Pri said.

"Good morning, Pari. Did you get enough sleep?" her mom asked. Pri nodded with a smile. She looked around and asked, "Where are Dad, Bhai, and Ankit?"

"Wow, missing Ankit already? Not bad," Sid said, earning a giggle from Aarohi.

Pri glared at him and said, "Are you deaf? You only heard Ankit's name and ignored Dad and Bhai."

Sid smiled sheepishly and said, "I hear what I want to. By the way, Ankit and Dad went together. I think they're on some secret mission. They left early this morning."

Pri frowned in confusion, thinking about how Dad and Ankit had left together so early.

"And Bhai?" Pri asked, looking at Aarohi.

"Arjun had an emergency meeting in office, but he’ll be back in an hour or two. He just left 10 minutes ago," Aarohi said, making Pri nod.

Meanwhile, Pri's mom served breakfast on a plate. Pri opened her mouth and signaled for her mom to feed her. Her mom smiled and started feeding her.

The day passed in a blur. Priyanka spent time with her mom in the kitchen, then followed Arjun around while he was busy with the haldi arrangements for tomorrow. After that, she and Sid played some video games. Later, she selected outfits for the haldi with the help of her mom and Aarohi, while Sid teased her in between. She also chose an outfit for Ankit. She missed him badly, he hadn't texted or called her, and when she tried to reach him, it was unreachable. She missed her dad too, as she hadn't seen him since last night. Thinking about this, she pouted.

In the evening, Pri saw from her balcony that Ankit and her dad were getting out of the car. She smiled and rushed downstairs. She saw her dad and ran to him, hugging him tightly.

"Where did you go, Dad? I missed you a lot!" Pri complained cutely.

Everyone chuckled.

Her dad hugged her with the same affection, as he had missed her too. Since Pri had been sleeping when he was leaving, he hadn't wanted to disturb her. Seeing the affection between father and daughter, everyone smiled.

"Arey Priyanka beta, you missed your dad so much just because you haven't seen him since morning. What will you do after marriage when you have to leave your dad, mom, family, and home?" one of the relatives said with a smile.

Hearing this, Pri froze for a moment, and the realization hit her hard. Her family's smiles also faded slowly. Priyanka looked at her dad, mom, and Bhai, noticing her mom and Bhai becoming emotional. Then she lifted her eyes to her dad, who was smiling at her with a mix of emotions in his eyes. She frowned and looked down, struggling with the idea of leaving her family, which she hadn't fully considered when agreeing to the marriage. Silently, she went to her room, deep in thought.
