(Hajoon's POV)

Am I...gonna die here for real? Were the very words I asked myself as Loki's shadow took hold of my neck, suspending my heavily-injured body in mid-air.

*Flashback*

"Are you sure that you wanna go to Gwangju alone, Sir? I can drive for you if you want to," Secretary Yoon asked while I was busy preparing for my departure.

"I'm not leaving the country, so relax," I told him while smiling. "And besides, I sent the Vice President to somewhere important so, you're the only one left to man the fort for today."

"But, Sir---"

"I have the Echo Team with me so I don't need your assistance there," I told him. "I'll be staying in Gwangju for the day so, see you tomorrow, then."

(A few minutes later...)

"Heol. So I've been followed, huh? Are they making their moves now?" I smirked upon seeing three cars aproaching me from behind.

Instead of passing through, the people that followed from behind earlier, surrounded me while using their cars to lock me in place while on the move.

"The heck---?!" I asked when suddenly, a trailer truck rammed my car head-on.

Fortunately, I managed to remove my seatbelt and retreated to the backseat, narrowly escaping death.

"Fire!" the armed men that came out of the three cars that trapped me earlier started shooting their assault rifles, intending to finish me off.

Wearing my katars, I quickly punched the door of my car open before rushing towards them.

"Ack---!" one of them grunted in pain as I destroyed his weapon before breaking one of his legs with a low kick.

As much as I'd like to finish them off, they're human beings, so it's a no for me.

Save one, that is.

"Ahahaha. It seems that you're still holding on to your pathetic life, err...Hirai Hatori, is it?" a familiar voice greeted me.

"So I guess turning someone into your mindless puppet is your thing now, Loki. Don't tell me you're now afraid of direct confrontation?" I asked as the guy in question transformed into a shadow version of Loki, shocking his comrades.

"Ahahaha. Manipulating people has always been my specialty. It's just that it has been a while since I last appeared in a physical world so I decided to stretch my arms a little. That's why I fought with you guys last time," he cackled. "But looking at you right now, I don't think you're worth fighting, either, now that you lost your pets," he added before vanishing.

"What---?!" I asked when he appeared right behind me, sending me flying with a sweeping kick toward the nearest tree.

As a counterattack, I immediately used my katar's attack to create a recoil, sending me back to my previous position and hitting him on the chest at the same time.

"Oho. You have a new toy, eh? It's considerably weaker compared to your pets, but normal humans can use it with proper training, I guess?" Loki commented. "Color me surprised," he added before throwing me.

"Ack---!!!!" I uttered, blood starting to bubble in my mouth as an iron bar pierced my heart.

"Oops. I won't let you die just like that, you pathetic bug," Loki commented as he took hold of my neck. "I'll make sure to enjoy every moment of your struggle this time, so brace yourself," he warned.
