Special Chapter I: Climbing the Tower

"I have been fighting for almost two years now and yet, I'm just in the middle of the tower," Hajoon said to himself as he was about to enter the 500th floor of the Tower of Despair.

It has been two years since he ventured into Grimstad, so he's been alone for quite long now. However, despite the odds stacked against him, he pressed on.

Fortunately though, he still has access to his Void Storage, so commodities like food, water, fuel, and spare weapons aren't a problem for him.

However, as he reached the 500th floor...

"KKURA UNNIE, LOOK OUT!!!" a familiar female voice yelled out nearby.

Looking around, he saw a familiar bob-haired young lady yelling out to a long-haired blonde after noticing the Red Cap stealthily approaching from behind.

The first one tried to rush to the latter's side but he anticipated that she wouldn't be able to make it, so he took action instead.

"Bone Prison," he chanted, casting one of the numerous spells that he learned while fighting inside the tower.

In an instant, a pile of bones surrounded the lady, completely protecting her from the Red Cap, which got confused after seeing the bones appear out of nowhere.

The other young lady, on the other hand, quickly rushed from behind and stabbed the Red Cap on the throat, killing it on the spot.

"Who the hell are you?" the bob-haired young lady asked upon noticing his presence.

"Relax, Kim Chaewon. I'm not your enemy," he replied, raising his hands to emphasize his point after releasing the other one from his spell. "You can ask Miyawaki Sakura Noona over there to use her skill on me, if you want to," he added.

"Eh?! Are you really Hirai Hatori? Seriously?!" Miyawaki Sakura, the older one, asked after I deactivated my True Form. "What happened to you?" she asked.

"To make the long story short, I got reincarnated for the third time, though this body of mine was actually the first one," he explained as Chaewon let out a huge sigh of relief. "Wait a minute. Is Im Hajin not with you two?" he asked after noticing that there were only the two of them present.

"Hajin got poisoned by a Basilisk after saving Eunchae and is out of commission now. That's why we're here," Chaewon replied. "We heard that an Elixir, which is rumored to have the ability to cure any abnormal status, can be found at the top of this tower," she explained.

"I guess you got the wrong information, Chaewon-ah," he commented, shocking the two. "You should be looking for a Panacea, the cure-all, not Elixir," he told them.

"What does an Elixir do, then?" Chaewon asked.

"It's just like a Healing Potion, but a hundred times stronger," he answered. "You can use Elixir on a poisoned individual but, unless you remove the poison, you will just be prolonging Hajin's suffering," he added.

"W-What should we do? Hajin will definitely die if we don't find the cure," Sakura Noona commented, worried.

"Luckily for you two, the boss of this floor, the Dullahan, is the one who had the Panacea, so saving Im Hajin is possible as long as we could kill that one," he told them.

"Dullahan? Isn't that an undead knight?" Chaewon asked.

"Yes. However, since I'm literally a Necromancer, it won't approach us if you have me around," he commented. "That's why we will trap it using Chaewon instead," he advised.
