"You're scared to believe I'm the one
But I just can't let you go
... I'd let the world burn
Let the world burn for you
This is how it always had to end
If I can't have you then no one can"I gradually stir awake, my head throbbing with a faint ache.
My eyes flutter open, blinking in the dim light streaming through the window. As my bleary gaze adjusts to the room, I realise I'm alone in the bed. I sit up slowly, wincing at the pain in my head, and look around the empty room.
As I sit upright in the bed, rubbing my temples in a vain attempt to soothe the pounding headache, I try to piece together the events of the night before. My memory is hazy, filled with fragments of laughter, music, and blurry faces. Then, as if a lightbulb flicks on in my mind, realisation hits me.
"Ugh," I murmur to myself, "I must have drunk too much last night." The thought only causes my headache to intensify, my eyes squinting at the faint sunlight peeking through the curtains.
As I take a quick look around the room, the realisation dawns on me that I don't recognize my surroundings. The place seems unfamiliar, the furniture and decorations not belonging to my own home. Panic starts to set in as I try to recall how I ended up here.
I hear a deep, gravelly voice from the doorway. "Rise and shine," it says, breaking the silence. I turn towards the voice, squinting against the light as I try to focus on the figure standing in the doorway. It's a man, tall and muscular, his body taking up almost the entire frame of the doorway. As my eyes adjust, I recognize him.
It's Saad.
I blurt out the words without thinking, still trying to collect my bearings. "What are you doing here?" I ask, my voice a bit groggy as I look at him. My mind is still foggy from sleep.
He chuckles softly at my question, a wry smile playing at the corner of his lips. "It's my house," he repeats, stepping into the room and closing the distance between us. "And you're sitting on my bed." His words cause realisation to dawn on me. I'm in HIS house, and I have no memory of how I got here.
