He pulls back slightly to look at me, his gaze searching my face as he asks, "Why are you crying, baby? What's wrong?"
I sniffle, feeling tears welling up in my eyes again at the concern in his voice. "It's...it's complicated," I manage to say, my voice choked with emotion.
His frown deepens as he looks at me, confusion and concern evident on his face. Before he can say anything, I speak up, "What's wrong with you, Saad?"
My voice trembles as I look at him, "Why are you doing this, Saad? Why are you acting like this, like you love me?"
His expression hardens slightly, and he looks directly at me, his voice firm as he responds, "I'm not acting."
I wipe away my tears with the back of my hand and scoff, "Oh please. You expect me to believe that all of a sudden you're in love with me and can't live without me?"
He grabs my shoulders and turns me to face him, his grip firm but gentle. His eyes burn with intensity as he yells, "Why is it so hard for you to believe that I actually love you, huh? Why can't you accept that you drive me crazy, that I can't get you out of my head?"
My tears start falling again, and I try to look away, but he gently grips my chin and turns my face back to look at him. "Please, baby, stop crying," he whispers, his voice pleading.
"No, Saad, stop it," I manage to choke out through my tears. "You're fucking with my head, and I can't handle it. I need time to understand this, all of this, and I can't do that when you act like you love me out of the blue."
He looks at me incredulously as he says, "Are you blind? Can't you see? Can't you feel it? Literally everyone knows how I love the shit out of you. Why do you think I am still in Central High? because of you. I am there because you are there. I go crazy if I don't see you for a day and you think I am fucking acting? And what the hell do you mean by out of the blue? I have been in love with you since the day you walked into my life. I am so in love with you that my friends are scared that you'll shatter my heart into pieces."
