My vision swims as I try to focus on the figure standing at the door, my head spinning from the alcohol. But the more I try to squint and see clearly, the more things seem to blur around me.

It takes a moment for my brain to register who it is... Rhea, my older sister.

I force myself to open my eyes again, trying to blink away the haziness. This time, I'm sure it's her. But my mind is still slow and sluggish, the effect of the alcohol making it hard to process what's happening.

She lets out a frustrated yell, her voice cutting through the haze of alcohol in my brain. "Learn to lock the goddamn door!" Her words hit me like a bucket of cold water, making me flinch.

Saad quickly pulls up my dress, covering my exposed chest just as Rhea enters the room. He moves fast and efficiently, his arms encircling me, pulling me closer to him as if he's trying to shield me from my sister's gaze.

My eyes wells up with tears, my lips quivering as I whine at Rhea, "Why are you yelling at me?" My voice comes out sounding childish and pouty.

Saad wraps his arms around me protectively, his voice soft as he says, "Sarah, no." He then leans down and kisses my cheek before guiding me back onto the couch, pulling me onto his lap.

Rhea puts her hands on her hips, her expression stern as she retorts, "Y'all just traumatised me, and you expect me not to yell?" Her eyes darted between me and Saad, her irritation clear.

I look up at Saad with teary eyes, my lower lip quivering as I wail, "She's yelling at me." The alcohol in my system makes me feel extra emotional, and I find myself pouting like a child.

His expression softens as he sees the tears in my eyes. He reaches up and gently wipes away my tears with his thumb, his touch gentle. He then hugs me closer, speaking in a soothing tone, "No baby, don't cry."
