matt stood alone by the punch bowl at the party, his eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of his ex-girlfriend, estella. it had been six months since their dramatic breakup at the prom, and he couldn't seem to shake off the feelings he still had for her.as if on cue, estella walked into the room, her long black hair falling in loose waves down her back. she was more beautiful than ever, and matt felt his heart rate quicken at the sight of her.
just as he was about to approach her, he felt a tap on his shoulder. he turned to see his brothers, Nick and Chris, standing behind him.
'hey, what's going on?' nick asked, a concerned look on his face.
'nothing,' matt replied, trying to play it cool.
but chris wasn't fooled. 'come on, matt. we know you better than that. you've been moping around ever since you and estella broke up.'
matt sighed and ran a hand through his hair. 'fine. yes, i still have feelings for her. i can't help it. i thought i could move on, but i can't. everywhere i go, i see her face. every song i hear, i think of her.'
nick and chris exchanged a glance. they had never seen their brother like this before. they had never seen somebody loved as matt loves estella
'matt, you need to talk to her,' chris said. 'tell her how you feel. you never know, she might feel the same way.'
matt nodded, feeling a spark of hope ignite in his chest. 'you're right. i need to talk to her. i can't keep living like this.'
with newfound determination, matt squared his shoulders and made his way through the crowd towards estella. it was time to face his feelings and see if there was a chance for them to be together again.
estella and her friends madi, alahna, and bella were all excited as they approached the front door of the party. estella, however, was experiencing a whirlwind of mixed emotions.
on one hand, she was looking forward to letting loose and having a good time with her closest friends. on the other hand, she couldn't shake the feeling of anxiety that came over her when she thought about running into her ex-boyfriend matt.
as they made their way through the crowded living room, estella's nerves began to get the best of her. she clung to madi's arm, scanning the sea of faces for any sign of matt.
she tried to focus on the conversation happening around her, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the last time she had seen him. just as she was starting to feel more comfortable, she felt a tap on her shoulder.
she turned around to see matt standing there, a hopeful smile on his face.
'hey, estella,' he said, his voice smooth and confident. 'i was hoping i'd run into you tonight.'
