After arriving in the city of Martyulf, the master seeks accommodation for the group. Shan and Fhiorr wander through the beautiful city, adorned with plants of all colors. Fhiorr is captivated by the statues of knights who defended the city, while Shan makes a mental map of the place, preparing for any eventuality.

He observes the guard shifts and identifies areas where shady creatures might lurk. Shan advises Fhiorr to avoid attracting attention, noting that although the city is beautiful, its inhabitants seem dubious and untrustworthy.Ignoring Shan's warning, Fhiorr loudly quotes a saying about listening to those who mean well. Shan points out that his loud response achieved the opposite of what he intended.

Fhiorr apologizes, but a knight in shining green armor approaches and demands they identify themselves. Shan explains that they are mere travelers accompanying their master, but the knight is suspicious and cuffs Fhiorr and Shan. The master arrives just in time to speak with the knight, explaining that the boys are with him and won't cause any trouble. However, the knight disregards the master's words and declares they are under arrest.

The master challenges the knight, telling him to look into his eyes. The knight sees two gigantic creatures seemingly ready to devour him. Terrified, he flees, but forgets to release the cuffs on the boys. The master draws his sword and cuts the cuffs, freeing Shan and Fhiorr. Shan, curious about what happened to the knight, asks the master about this ability.

The master simply replies that he made the knight look into his eyes and nothing more. Still confused, Shan decides to let it go. They proceed to their rented lodging to rest for the next day.The following day, Shan goes for a walk and encounters a strange wizard with tired eyes, whom he decides to ignore. As the day progresses, Shan sees a boy training with a knight in red armor. The boy is defeated and discouraged when the knight tells him that with his current attitude and strength, he'll never become a king or even a prince.

Realizing he's in an unfamiliar part of the city, Shan wants to head back but notices the boy crying and approaches him.Shan tells the boy that crying won't make him stronger, arrogantly warning him that he's already a lost cause. However, the adolescent boy doesn't want to be looked down upon by Shan and attacks him. Shan easily dodges the boy's weak attacks and swiftly takes him down.

The boy is impressed by Shan's skills and asks him to teach him. Initially reluctant, Shan agrees to teach him a few basic moves. With a sigh, Shan says, "Alright, be grateful I have nothing better to do around here."The boy introduces himself as Tobyreius, prince of the Loghna region, though he prefers to be called Toby. Shan explains that training starts now and begins teaching Toby some techniques he has learned.

Thus, Toby starts to develop under Shan's guidance. The next day, Shan wakes up pondering how to train Toby, the unskilled youth, to fight effectively. Seeking a way to develop his skills, Shan spots a thief stealing from a woman's purse. He decides to follow the thief. The thief leads Shan to a bar, where he secretly presses a button revealing a hidden door. Curious, Shan sneaks inside and overhears conversations among several thieves and a knight in green armor, the same one who tried to arrest them earlier.

The knight discusses the two boys (Shan and Fhiorr) who recently arrived in the city and how he intends to use them to make money. He mentions being threatened by a mysterious creature with crown-shaped horns and a cloak, who compelled him to look into his eyes. The knight recounts how he saw two ravenous beasts in the person's eyes, and how he narrowly escaped their jaws. The thieves laugh at his story, not believing such a thing.

From the shadows, a wizard warns that this could jeopardize their plans. Shan realizes these individuals are plotting something sinister in the city. Shan leaves the hideout and returns to Toby for their nighttime training.

He begins teaching Toby the ability "Lightning Arrow Hand," a technique that involves creating a small sphere of energy at the fist's tip and launching it at the target, illuminating the area and blinding the enemy. Shan explains the steps, but Toby struggles to execute the move correctly. However, Shan reassures him that they will keep training until he masters it, knowing Toby needs more confidence.

Over the next few days, Shan and Toby continue their rigorous training, with Toby gradually improving. As they train, Shan remains vigilant, keeping an eye on the city's potential threats while preparing Toby to face any dangers that may come their way.
